It delivers bulk data storage solutions for online content storage providing customers with the highest capacity density needed to address an ever increasing amount of unstructured data in an industry-standard 3.5-inch HDD, says Scott Horn, Seagate vice president of marketing.
Outfitted with enterprise-class reliability and support for archive workloads, it features multi-drive RV tolerance for consistent enterprise-class performance in high density environments, he adds. Drobo update combines user data, Time Machine backups
Connected Data, the creator of the Drobo line of smart storage solutions, has announced a new feature for its Drobo Mini and Drobo 5D products that enables Apple Time Machine users to utilize their Drobos for both user and backup data.
When Mac users add a disk to Time Machine there's no option to choose how much capacity to use for backup. Without the ability to set a limit for Time Machine, users must sacrifice their entire disk for backup leaving no room for user data.
The latest enhancement for Drobo solves this challenge by allowing users to keep Time Machine backups as well as their documents, videos and photos on the same device. Drobo customers no longer need to purchase multiple USB devices to protect their data, saving them time, money and the hassle of managing individual drives, says .

Arcam announces the UN-Wireless rDock-uni
Arcam has announced the US$299 rDock-uni — The UN-Wireless Digital Lightning Dock DAC for iOS devices (http://tinyurl.com/mnsvlmn). The device allows the highest quality and easiest connection to any AV or Hi-Fi and allows music lovers to listen at a quality level that no other dock can achieve, according to the folks at Arcam.
The rDock extracts digital audio from the iDevice and processes the music via an audiophile DAC, the Burr-Brown/TI PCM1502 and a Arcam's de-jittering circuitry. Orange Software (http://www.oranged.com) has revved Studiometry, its Mac compatible client and project management tool, to version 11.2. Customizable calendars can now be created in Studiometry. These can be used to color-code and filter items by type, employee, and associated groups. Setting up custom calendars will give you complete control over the content and display of items within Studiometry’s calendar view.
For example, you can now color-code calendar items based on teams of employees. Each team will have its own calendar, and any items associated with a team will be displayed in that team’s color. Multiple calendars can now be selected and viewed simultaneously, so team schedules can be compared at a glance.
Calendars can also be shared between employees using the new Manage Calendars function. Employees can assign their calendars to others, or subscribe to public calendars with your Studiometry database.

Khronos Group announces advances in OpenGL ecosystem
The Khronos Group, an open consortium of leading hardware and software companies, has announced growing industry support for the OpenGL family of 3D standards.
In July, the first wave of leading GPU vendors, including ARM, Imagination Technologies, Intel, NVIDIA and Vivante, achieved full conformance with the latest version of OpenGL ES. A conformance submission from Qualcomm is currently under review, with more to follow. The OpenGL ES 3.1 specification was released in March 2014 and provides the most desired features of desktop OpenGL, including GPU Compute shaders, in a standard that is suitable for mobile devices, according to the Khronos Group.
