Prosoft releases Data Rescue 4
Prosoft Engineering has launched Data Rescue 4, an update of the hard drive and deleted file recovery software for Mac. The new version includes a proprietary new BootWell technology that can boot and recover files from any Mac from 2005 or newer.
Data Rescue 4 is available for purchase online directly from Prosoft (www.prosofteng.com). It costs US$99 and requires Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later.
Dell introduces two high-end computer monitors
Dell (www.dell.com) has introduced the 27-inch US$1,049 Dell 55 Monitor, which boasts a widescreen display that delivers Full HD resolution and a 3000:1 contrast. If that's not enough, the company also previewed the Dell UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K Monitor, the world’s first display with Ultra HD 5K resolution (5120 x 2880).
Ultra HD 5K is equivalent to four times the resolution of QHD and seven times the resolution of Full HD. It also delivers immersive acoustics with two 16W integrated Harmon Kardon speakers. The monitor also monitor offers six USB ports and one media card reader. However, be prepared for some serious cash outlay. The Dell UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K Monitor costs US$2,499.99 and will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
Theme Inn presents a Suite for MS Office
Graphic design company, Theme Inn (http://themeinn.com/), has announced Suite for MS Office - Templates, another special bundle of templates for Microsoft Office for Mac. The new pack contains over 300 selected high-quality templates for Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
It allows users to find designs for just about any business or personal occasion. The new product offers 262 templates for Word, 30 spreadsheets for Excel, and 10 themes for PowerPoint presentations.
Suite for MS Office requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later and Microsoft Office for Mac 2011. It normally costs US$19.99, but is available for a limited time at 50% off.
Acronis launches Acronis ExtremeZ-IP 9
Acronis (www.acronis.com) has announced Acronis ExtremeZ-IP 9.0, the latest version of its enterprise software that integrates Macs for use in a Windows based environment.
The upgrade continues to provide access to file servers and NAS via trouble-free Apple Filing Protocol (AFP), now with Spotlight Search full-content searching of NAS volumes. This integration reduces search times to just seconds, increasing employee productivity, according to the folks at Acronis.

Agenda set for the Seventh Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet
The agenda has been set for the Seventh Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet (http://supermeet.com), which will take place during IBC2014 on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam.

Mass Fidelity has introduced The Core, a compact wireless speaker that combines "better than stereo" sound with an impressive feature set including, portability, multi-room functionality and crystal-clear audio, according to Ben Webster, CEO and founder of Mass Fidelity.
It uses Wave Field Synthesis (WFS), an audio rendering technique that produces a sonic image that sounds like two widely placed hi-fi speakers, he adds. ArtRage for Mac OS X gets 64-bit support
ArtRage (www.artrage.com) is shipping now with faster 64-bit support. The upgrade of the painting software for Mac and Windows features a 64-bit engine for speed improvements, larger projects and canvases, and additional features listed below.
ArtRage 4.5 costs US$50 for new users. However, it's a free upgrade for ArtRage 4.x users and a $25 upgrade for owners of previous version, including OEM versions that came bundled with Wacom tablets worldwide.
Jettison is ready for OS X Yosemite's 'dark mode'
St. Clair Software has released Jettison 1.4.1 (http://tinyurl.com/kvonedl), an update to their Mac OS X application that automatically ejects external drives before your Mac goes to sleep.
Jettison eliminates the hassle of manually ejecting Time Machine backup drives, network server volumes and flash drives. Just close the lid of your MacBook and Jettison does it for you. Version 1.4.1 improves the logic for ejecting and remounting all disks, with specific improvements for SD cards and flash drives. It also delivers user interface refinements and support for Yosemite's "dark mode."

Billings Pro for Mac OS X, iOS revved to version 1.8
Marketcircle has unveiled Billings Pro 1.8 (http://www.marketcircle.com/billingspro), an update to its time billing and invoicing solution for Mac OS X and iOS devices.

FabFilter has released FabFilter Pro-Q 2, an update to the Pro-Q equalizer plug-in. It sports new features such as full screen mode, natural phase processing, Aauto gain, spectrum gGrab, Gain-Q interaction, and slope support for all filter types.
For Pro-Q 2, FabFilter has redesigned the internal filter engine from the ground up. It's also boosted by user interface innovations.

Apple officially announces Sept. 9 media event
It's official: Apple is planning a media event on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. (Pacific). The company has sent out invitations to the press dubbed: "9.9.2014. Wish we could say more."
Almost certainly the company will announce the long-rumored iPhone 6, which is expected to be available in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions. Recent rumors have added that Apple will also unveil a smartwatch, the "iWatch," at the event.

Smith Micro Software has launched StuffIt Deluxe 16 for Mac with Cloud Services integration, a new cloud-based file transfer feature that lets users send large files without the dealing with email attachments or FTP.
