TypeBook Creator for Mac OS X gets new interface
Veenix Software has updated TypeBook Creator (http://tinyurl.com/yjew3jw), professional font cataloging and specimen printing software for the Mac. The new version features a modern, streamlined interface that emphasizes key features of the software and compliments the look of the latest Mac operating systems.
TypeBook Creator features automatic font categorization, 16 specimen page layouts and numerous customization options. It uses a proprietary algorithmic process that can distinguish between 16 font classifications of Western Roman fonts, including: serif and sans serif fonts, picture, script &and thematic fonts, text fonts, mono-spaced fonts, wide and narrow fonts, and more.
Fonts are analyzed as they're added to the database and tagged with appropriate categories. Users can also manually add their own categories, and recategorize fonts as they see fit. The automatic font categorization process will be deployed in all Veenix font products by 2009, the company says.
TypeBook Creator retails for US$69.95 for individual users and $199.95 for studio and corporate users. Upgrades are available for current users at $19.99 for single-user licenses and $49.99 for studio/corporate users. A demo is available for download.
