iTunes 12.3 ready for iOS 9, OS X El Capitan
Apple has posted iTunes 12.3, which adds support for iOS 9 and Mac OS X El Capitan, which is coming later this month.
According to Apple, the upgrade also:
° Offers improved Apple Music accessibility with VoiceOver;
° Resolves a problem that prevented ordering of songs within Up Next;
° Fixes a problem where some radio stations did not appear within Recently Played;
° Addresses an issue where songs you loved on iOS did not appear loved on iTunes;
° Supports two-factor authentication to secure your Apple ID;
° Includes improvements to overall stability and performance.
You can download iTunes 12.3 via the Software Update option in the Mac App Store or from the iTunes website.
iOS 9 now available for download
Apple has released iOS 9. It can be downloaded free via iTunes or as an over-the-air update through the Software Update function in iOS's Settings app.
To install it, you'll need to be using (at least) an iPhone 4s, iPad 2, or fifth-generation iPod touch. iOS 9 will come preloaded on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, launching on Sept. 25, and the iPad Pro, coming in November.
Tim Cook to meet with India's prime minister
Apple CEO Tim Cook is among several CEOs slated to meet with Norendra Modi, Indian's prime minister, when the PM visits the U.S. later this month, reports The Economic Times (http://tinyurl.com/p6rxnu2).
An Apple spokesperson confirmed that a meeting between its Cook and Modi will take place. However, the spokesperson declined to comment on topics of discussion.
The prime minister will be keen to showcase initiatives such as "Make in India" and "Digital India" and persuade the maker of iPhones and iPads to invest in manufacturing and research & development (R&D) in India, says The Economic Times. For its part, Apple has "become increasingly conscious of India's importance as a market," the article adds.
Apple delays watchOS 2
watchOS 2 was due for release today. However, Apple has delayed it due to a bug. The company hasn't said exactly what the issue is.
However, in a statement (http://tinyurl.com/o3frjaf) to the press, Apple says: "We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly."

An update on Apple's developer web page (http://tinyurl.com/oya9tf6) says that iOS 8 is now running on 87 percent of compatible devices.
iOS 7 is running on 11 percent, while all other versions combined account for two percent. iOS 9 is due to be released today. Around this time last year, when iOS 7 was about to be replaced by iOS 8, adoption for Apple's current-generation operating system is down three points.

Apple has lost its long-held first place in mobile phone sales at physical stores in China to domestic smartphone maker OPPO in August as consumers waited for Apple's phone launch this month, reports My Drivers, as noted by BrightWire.com, a global investment newswire.
OPPO took a 11.6% share in terms of sales volume, compared with 9.9% in July. Apple had a 11.4% share, followed by vivo's 10.82% and Samsung's 7.9%, according to My Drivers, citing a report by Sino Market Research. My Drivers is a Chinese website that covers IT industry news and product launches.

Apple says it's on pace to beat last year's iPhone first-weekend record. Apple shares rose in premarket trading following the announcement.

Following Apple's latest product launch, the company cut iPhone prices in Brazil, reports Folha de São Paulo, a daily newspaper based in Brazil.
The iPhone 5s (16 GB) now costs BRL 2,300 (about US$597) in the country, down 8% from BRL 2,500. The price for the 32 GB version has been cut from BRL 2,900 to BRL 2,500, says Folha de São Paulo — as noted by BrightWire,.com, a global investment newswire. The iPhone 6 now costs BRL 3,200 in the 16 GB and BRL 3,500 in the 64GB version.

Apple to store Russian users data inside the country
Apple will store the personal data of its Russian users at a data center inside Russia to comply with a new law, reports the Kommersant newspaper — as noted by The Moscow Times (http://tinyurl.com/ndsbv9u).
The company has agreed to a partnership with Moscow-based data center operator IXcellerate, which already has a contract with U.S. online hotel booking service Booking.com, the article says. As part of the Booking.com agreement, the passport details of the individual making the reservation will be stored, as well as the number of the bank card used to make the purchase.
The deal appears to achieve the localization of the personal data of Apple's Russian users and will bring the firm in line with a Russian law obliging all companies supplying Internet services in Russia, or targeting Russian users, to store such data inside the country by Sept. 1 this year, adds The Moscow Times.

Zevrix Solutions has announced BatchOutput DOC 2.4, a compatibility update to its output automation solution for Microsoft Word on Mac OS.
BatchOutput automates printing and exporting of multiple documents to PDF, and allows to carry out powerful professional PDF production directly from Word. It offers batch processing, image downsampling, PDF security, variable file names and other essential options. The new version makes BatchOutput DOC compatible with the recently released Microsoft Office 2016.

Today, Apple announced a new member of the iPad line: the iPad Pro. It features a 12.9” Retina display with 5.6 million pixels, more than a 15” MacBook Pro with Retina display, and uses variable refresh rate and other technologies to save energy. Apple claims a 10 hour battery life, and it measures in at 6.9 mm thick and 1.57 lb. The iPad Pro has 4 speakers, which dynamically rebalance depending on how it’s held to consistently provide clear and rich stereo sound.
Its new 64 bit A9X chip is 1.8x faster than the A8X chip, and has a 2x faster GPU. According to Apple, that makes the iPad Pro faster than 80% of portable PCs sold in last month, and 90% better on graphics. SwiftCapture is new OS X video capture, animation software
Ben Software has introduced SwiftCapture, Mac OS X software product for high-performance video capture. It lets you create video recordings, timelapse captures and stop-motion movies from a variety of video input devices.
SwiftCapture supports any video input device that works on a Mac, including built-in FaceTime and iSight cameras, USB webcams and the Blackmagic range of devices. It records standard MOV and MP4 movie files.
SwiftCapture costs approximately US$46 for a single-user license and about $630) for a site license. A 30-day fully-functional trial version of SwiftCapture is available for download (www.bensoftware.com).
