Zevrix Solutions has announced Package Central 1.10.3, a maintenance update to company's file packaging automation solution for Adobe InDesign. The software automatically collects InDesign documents along with their fonts and links from watched hot folders. Package Central can serve unlimited users on a network and offers email notifications, variable folder names, PDF export, and more. Version 1.10.3 improves handling of InDesign files with missing elements and fixes some queue management issues. Package Central can be purchased for $149.95 from the Zevrix website (www.zevrix.com). Cheetham3D 7.1 is unleashed on the Mac
MW3D-Solutions has unleashed Cheetah3D 7.1 (www.cheetah3d.com), an update to its 3D modeling solution for macOS. The utility sports features such as polygon reduction, a loft modeling object and a text spline object. Version 7.1 allows even more complex and realistic scenes. Output Factory for InDesign update improves PDF, print workflow...
Zevrix Solutions has announced Output Factory 2.2.3, a maintenance update to company's output automation solution for Adobe InDesign. The utility automates printing, exporting and preflighting from InDesign and offers batch processing, export as single pages, layer versioning, custom scripts integration and more. Version 2.2.3 addresses an issue in which some incompatible PDF and print output settings could be enabled at the same time, which could result in crashes and incorrect file processing. Output Factory 2.2.3 can be purchased from the Zevrix website (www.zevrix.com) for $169.95 (there’s a “lite” version for $119.95). A demo is available for download. watchOS 4.2 released with Apple Pay Cash support
Apple has released watchOS 4.2 for the Apple Watch. It adds support for Apple Pay Cash service, as well as other improvements and bug fixes. You can install watchOS 4.2 via the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General --> Software Update. Your smartwatch needs to have at least 50% battery, be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the iPhone. With Apple Pay Cash, Apple Pay users will be able to make and receive payments with friends and family quickly and securely. They can send money and get paid right in Messages, or tell Siri to pay someone, using the credit and debit cards they already have in Wallet.

GeekSuit updates MacDeveloper beta testing resource site
GeekSuit has announced an update to MacDeveloper (www.macdeveloper.net), their beta testing networking and management resource for Apple developers and enthusiasts. It connects beta testers and developers, with the aim of aiding developers in testing and improving their products. The update to the service improves the platform's usefulness by enhancing the testing process for developers and testers. MacDeveloper now supports a "Pay-to-Test" model. When a developer opens a Project Channel, they’re walked through entering the basic information about the application, uploading a binary for testing (or supply a download URL), enter the types of tickets that testers will be allowed to submit for the build, and any special instructions for testers. Developers can then enter the amount of funds to be placed into escrow from the developer's PayPal fund. Amounts range from $20 to $200.

Apple releases tvOS 11.2
Apple has released tvOS 11.2 for the fourth generation Apple TV and Apple TV with 4K. It adds a Sports section to the interface, joining the “Watch Now,” Library,” “Store” and “Search” options. The Sports tab provides links to live games and the ability to rewatch games that already occurred. You can also select your favorite teams for a range of sports and leagues. tvOS 11.2 also adds includes new video settings for changing high dynamic range and frame rate dynamically based on content if you hav an Apple TV 4K. If you own one, you can find the new Match Content options in the Settings app under Video and Audio after updating to video 11.2. According to Apple, “We’ll use your selected display format to play content without alteration. VeprIT launches SlideFlow for the Mac
VeprIT has launched SlideFlow, a Mac app for generating animated photo slideshows with background music and playing it on a TV screen. According to VeprIT owner, Demid Borodin, the utility “offers the most natural viewing experience, presenting the full photograph, and then applying Ken Burns effect to zoom on human faces.” The user can export the slideshow as a video file, or play it immediately on a connected TV. SlideFlow works over a local Wi-Fi network with many modern smart TVs, such as Samsung, LG, and Sony TVs. It is also expected to work with other DLNA devices. Support for Google Cast (Chromecast) is coming in future versions, as well as an iOS version. Apple has released iOS 11.2 with support for Apple Pay Cash,7.5-watt charging on compatible devices, and various bug fixes and improvements. Apple Heart Study launched to identify irregular heart rhythms
Apple has launched the Apple Heart Study app, which is designed to facilitate research study using Apple Watch’s heart rate sensor to collect data on irregular heart rhythms and notify users who may be experiencing atrial fibrillation (AFib). AFib, the leading cause of stroke, is responsible for approximately 130,000 deaths and 750,000 hospitalizations in the US every year. Many people don’t experience symptoms, so AFib often goes undiagnosed. To calculate heart rate and rhythm, Apple Watch’s sensor uses green LED lights flashing hundreds of times per second and light-sensitive photodiodes to detect the amount of blood flowing through the wrist. The sensor’s unique optical design gathers signals from four distinct points on the wrist, and when combined with powerful software algorithms, Apple Watch isolates heart rhythms from other noise. Apple schedules downtime for iTunes Connect
Apple has scheduled downtime for iTunes Connect from Dec. 23-27, so its employees can celebrate the holidays. iTunes Connect is a suite of web-based tools for managing content sold on iTunes, the iBooks Store, and the various app stores.  New apps and app updates won’t be accepted during those dates, so any releases should be submitted, approved, and scheduled in advance. Apple celebrates Hour of Code at all its retail stores
Apple has opened registration for thousands of free Hour of Code sessions available at all Apple Stores from Dec. 4-10. New Drum Loop Collection available for DrumCore 4
Dennis Chambers' drum loops are now available for Sonoma Wire Works' DrumCore 4 AAX/VST3/AU plug-in. The first in a series, the Rosanna-ish set includes 62 audio loops and fills for $4.99. DrumCore 4 is available in three editions that contain the same plug-in. The differences are how it is delivered (download, USB Flash drive, or Solid State drive) and how much content is included by famous drummers who have played with the bands listed below. All editions can be expanded with content by more than 25 drummers in DrumCore 4's built-in store (http://www.sonomawireworks.com/drumcore/).

Promise Technology introduces new Thunderbolt 3 dock
Promise Technology (https://www.promise.com/us/) has announced the addition of a Thunderbolt 3 dock to its lineup of solutions for rich media workflows. Through the new dock, users c-an add two 4K displays, charge devices, daisy-chain Thunderbolt 3 hard drives, connect USB devices, transfer SD card content, and more -- over a single connection. The $249 TD-300 brings it all together to expand the capabilities of Thunderbolt 3-enabled macOS and Windows 10 platforms. Its connectivity options include five USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader and HDMI 2.0. It also features two Thunderbolt 3 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and an audio in/out port. Apple Park Visitor Center opens to the public
The Apple Park Visitor Center opened in Cupertino, California, Friday morning, welcoming neighbors and guests from surrounding areas to experience Apple Park’s innovations. It’s is an architectural extension of the new campus (the “spaceship campus”) with similar aesthetics in staircases, stone walls and terrazzo floors. The Visitor Center’s cantilevered carbon fiber roof appears to float and is only supported by stone clad cores and no other extraneous columns for support. Inviting guests to explore Apple Park in an immersive way, a 3D model of the campus is brought to life by augmented reality technology. Visitors can learn about the world’s largest naturally ventilated building and view one of the largest on-site solar energy installations in the world. Apple has released iOS 11.1.2, which addresses an issue in which some iPhone X models became unresponsive in cold weather. The update also: ° Fixes an issue where the iPhone X screen becomes temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid temperature drop ° Addresses an issue that could cause distortion in Live Photos and videos captured with iPhone X The iOS 11.1.2 update can be downloaded for free on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. Go to Settings --> General --> Software Update.
