Moneyspire releases 2018 personal finance software for macOS, iOS
Moneyspire Inc. (https://www.moneyspire.com) has announced Moneyspire 2018, the company's personal finance software for Mac, Windows and iOS. It allows you to organize your transactions and see where your money is going. With Moneyspire, you can keep track of your bank accounts, credit cards and more. Final Cut Pro X Viral Video Thirds Plugins released by FxFactory
FxFactory has released XEffects Viral Video Thirds, a new Final Cut Pro X plugin developed by partner Idustrial Revolution. This plugin is based on splitting the screen into thirds, adding graphical overlays and using dynamic transitions to animate between the "third composites." Apple says it will have a limited supply of iPhone X models for walk-in customers on Friday, Nov. 3, at 8 a.m. local time. Apple has released a new fifth developer beta of iOS 11.1, along with the fourth betas of macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 and tvOS 11.1. They can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center or through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store with the proper profile installed. Also, there’s a new public beta of macOS High Sierra 10.3.1 available for public beta testers. Station for macOS upgraded to version 1.4
True North Software has released Station 1.4, an update of their multilevel (hierarchical) launcher for macOS. With nested folders, you can arrange items in Station in a way that fits your workflow. In version 1.4, scalability is greatly increased through logical groupings , increasing the sheer number of items that can be added to the app without having to shrink the launcher size. In the preferences of Station 1.4, you can specify if you want the software to justify the panels to the left, center, or right. Also, a "Populate Folder Icons" menu item was added to the Station icon, allowing you to automatically populate folder icons. Station 1.4 requires macOS 10.11 or higher and costs $14.99. App Tamer for macOS revved to version 2.3.3
St. Clair Software has updated App Tamer, its Mac utility for managing applications to yield more efficient CPU usage, increased battery life and quieter operation. The utility’s AutoStop capability automatically slows down or pauses applications when you switch away from them, and then restarts them when you click back to them. Version 2.3.3 offers a new option to speed up Time Machine backups and addresses a number of other issues. App Tamer runs on macOS 10.8 or higher. Apple releases iOS 11.0.3
Apple has released iOS 11.0.3. It can be downloaded for free on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings --> General --> Software Update. According to Apple, iOS 11.0.3 fixes an issue where audio and haptic feedback would not work on some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices. It also addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 6s displays because “they were not serviced with genuine Apple parts.”

Sonnet Technologies has unveiled the Allegro USB-C PCIe card, a two-port USB-C 3.1 adapter card that enables data transfers from connected devices at speeds up to 960 MB/s. AKVIS (www.akvis.com) has released SmartMask 10, a selection tool designed to make image masking fun and simple. Version 10 provides users with the new Refine Radius tool, enhanced Magic Brush tool, and other improvements. AKVIS SmartMask allows switching between Auto and Manual modes to achieve the best possible result with any photo. For more nuanced and precise excision of a monochrome background, SmartMask offers the Chroma Key mode. To improve the selection to a very fine point and make it as perfect as possible, the Refine Edges mode and a number of post-processing tools are available. Zevrix Solutions has announced Deliver Express 2.6.4 a compatibility update to the company's hot folder-based file transfer automation solution. ProjectWizards conjures up Merlin Project 4.3

Trammell Hudson to keynote MacTech Conference
The keynote for MacTech Conference will be Trammell Hudson of Thunderstrike and Magic Lantern fame. He’s a programmer and reverse engineer who focuses on low-level software and hardware security. At Two Sigma Investments, Hudson is a security researcher and is developing Heads, an open source firmware for slightly more secure systems. Previously he developed lightweight operating system kernels and message passing systems for the world’s fastest supercomputers at Sandia National Labs. Trammell’s security research into Apple’s hardware resulted in Thunderstrike and Thunderstrike II, the first proof-of-concept firmware rootkits for MacBooks. After working with Apple to patch the underlying vulnerabilities, he presented his findings at CCC, BlackHat and DEFCON.
