NCsoft, TransGaming announce City of Heroes for the Mac
NCsoft, a publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online
games (MMOs), has announced a partnership with TransGaming to bring
the City of Heroes franchise (http://www.cityofheroes.com/) to the
Mac. The game has been enabled for the Mac by TransGaming, a
developer of portability technologies for the electronic
entertainment industry.
City of Heroes for Mac will be available for public beta testing with
the release of the game's thirteenth expansion, Issue 13: Power and
Responsibility, later this fall. The official launch will occur
pre-holiday this year with a special digital-only Mac edition of City
of Heroes, available across all NCsoft West consumer territories.

Griffin Technology has released iTalk

Fission update adds ability to save iPhone ringtones
Rogue Amoeba has updated its Fission audio editor

upgrade has the ability to save iPhone ringtones, using almost any
audio file in any audio format supported by QuickTime. From MP3 to
MIDI and everywhere in-between, Fission lets users turn any audio
into a ringtone.
Users simply open their file in Fission, crop it down to the desired
portion of audio (40 seconds or fewer in length), then choose Save as
iPhone Ringtone. Fission passes the file off to iTunes with the
needed parameters to make the file a ringtone. Once iTunes has the
file, it's ready for syncing with an iPhone.
Fission 1.6 also adds the ability to insert periods of silence into
files, useful for many different types of editing, as well a command
to specify the exact location of the playhead for audio playback and

Quark says that it's extended the capabilities of
Quark Publishing System 8 (QPS 8) to include
support for both QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign.
