Apple Reports Second Quarter Results
Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2009 second quarter
ended March 28, 2009. The Company posted revenue of $8.16 billion and a net
quarterly profit of $1.21 billion, or $1.33 per diluted share. These
results compare to revenue of $7.51 billion and net quarterly profit of
$1.05 billion, or $1.16 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross
margin was 36.4 percent, up from 32.9 percent in the year-ago quarter.
International sales accounted for 46 percent of the quarter's revenue.
In accordance with the subscription accounting treatment required by GAAP,
the Company recognizes revenue and cost of goods sold for iPhone and Apple
TV over their estimated economic lives. Adjusting GAAP sales and product
costs to eliminate the impact of sub scription accounting, the
corresponding non-GAAP measures* for the quarter are $9.06 billion of

Aleratec HDD Cruiser 'recycles' hard disk drives

ColorEdge CG232W, a full high-definition 22.5-inch LCD monitor for

Blackmagic Design (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/) has released a
slew of new products and product updates at this week's National
Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas, Nevada. New
products include OpenGear converters, two Videohub Routers, new Mini
Converters, a Waveform Monitor, and support for Linux with Blackmagic
Design capture cards.
There are eight new card-based converter products. These converters

Nvidia brings Quadro FX 4800 to Mac market
At this week's National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las
Vegas, Nevada, Nvidia announced it's bringing its NVidia Quadro FX
4800 graphics card to Mac Pro users. It's on display at the Nvidia
NAB 2009 booth: SL 7906, lower South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention
Center.
To address the direct needs of the Mac user, the new Quadro FX 4800
GPU for Mac features a standard three-pin stereo connector for true
3D stereoscopic imaging, which is critical to many core professional
Mac applications, according to Jeff Brown, general manager,
