Kool Tools: Nomadic Audio Speakase
Morel’s Nomadic Audio Speakase is a portable Bluetooth speaker and travel carry-on hybrid that transforms the suitcase’s interior volume into a large-scale hi-fi speaker. Its design won a 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) innovation award.
It provides consumers with a portable Bluetooth speaker, as well as a Hi-Fi speaker capable of playing music at full sonic energy anywhere they are: indoors, outdoors, home, office and while traveling. The speaker features aptX HD audio, which ensures that a Bluetooth device delivers High Definition (HD) audio. The Nomadic Audio Speakase preserves sound data through the audio transmission, resulting in a better-than-CD listening experience.
Most speakers are built large for a reason: rich sound requires space. But with Nomadic Audio’s patent-pending technology, the Bluetooth speaker can be used with or without the Speakase, where sound becomes bigger and better. The Speakase boosts the sound and frequencies of vibration, playing louder bass, richer trebles, and just an all-around incredible sound.
Morel broke away from the traditional portable speaker design and developed a small sized stereo box-less Bluetooth speaker. It consists of two custom 6” x 4” woofers and two 19mm tweeters residing on the same axis, and playing in dipole, open-baffle mode. Unlike in other Bluetooth devices, the driver’s membranes utilize almost 80% of the Bluetooth device front and back surface, providing full body sonic energy, deep bass and a lifelike performance.
The Speakase travel carry-on is water-resistant, rigid and lightweight, comparable to the most popular suitcase brands on the market. Comprised of a polycarbonate shell with an aluminum-sealed reinforced frame, it’s shock absorbent, protecting the speakers, the case, and the traveler’s belongings. When inserted in its slot, the Bluetooth speaker occupies only 4% of the trolley’s inner volume, leaving 96% inner space for personal belongings and booming sound.
