StarTech debuts Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter

StarTech.com has announced that it says is the first Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt Adapter on the market, which bridges new Thunderbolt 3 computers to Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 peripheral devices. This gives users the ability to connect their Thunderbolt 3 computers to the ecosystem of Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices.
 
Thunderbolt 3 technology is different from previous Thunderbolt technologies because it uses the new USB-C connector to combine and deliver power, display and connectivity signals in a single connection. Thunderbolt 3 technology offers transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps, dual 4K display support, power and charging up to 100W, and support for both DisplayPort and PCI Express protocols.

With the new StarTech.com adapter users can connect their existing Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices to the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port on their computer. The Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt Adapter is available at CDW, Amazon.com, Newegg.com, PC Connection, and Insight.
