Company of Heroes 2 advancing to the Mac on Aug. 27
Feral Interactive has announced that World War II real-time strategy game Company of Heroes 2 will be released for Mac and Linux via Steam on Aug. 27 with the Mac App Store version to follow shortly afterwards. It's developed by Relic Entertainment and published by SEGA for PC,.
Here's how the game is described: "Players will direct their troops through fast-paced real-time battles in the brutal fight to turn the tide of World War II. From the desperate defense of Stalingrad to victory in Berlin, they must defeat a tenacious enemy and survive the deadly cold of the Russian winter.
"Objective-based missions challenge players to maneuver soldiers, guns, and tanks across feature-rich environments to scope out the battlefield, secure targets and destroy enemies. Players will navigate hazardous terrain, take advantage of cover and overcome the freezing temperatures and treacherous ice that can make the difference between crushing defeat and hard-won victory."
DLC for the Steam version of Company of Heroes 2, including the Theater of War mission packs as well as additional Commanders and Skins, will be available on August 27th via in-store purchase. The Steam version of Company of Heroes 2 will support Mac-Mac and Linux-Linux multiplayer using Steamworks.
DLC for the Mac App Store version of Company of Heroes 2, including the Theater of War mission packs as well as additional Commanders and Skins, will be available post-release, via in-app purchase. The Mac App Store version of Company of Heroes 2 will support Mac-Mac multiplayer using Feral's own multiplayer matching service.

Minimum system requirements for Mac call for a 1.8Ghz CPU with at least 4.0GB RAM, 512MB or better graphics card, and Mac OS 10.10.3 or later. The game requires an AMD R9 series graphics card, an Intel Iris Pro graphics card, or an NVIDIA 600 series graphics card or better.
