Prosoft Engineering (www.prosofteng.com) has released Drive Genius 4.0.1, an update of its US$99 collection of software tools to speed up, clean up and protect your Mac. It's a maintenance upgrade.

Drive Genius 4 sported a new, enhanced interface that allows for running tools on multiple drives simultaneously.  The DrivePulse tool alerts you to hard drive issues before they become major problems.

Drive Genius 4.0.1 is optimized for Yosemite and works with Mac OS X 10.8.3 and up. The new BootWell tool lets you create a special secondary drive to Defrag or Repair your main hard drive. You can also personalize and organize your Mac’s drive and folder icons with IconGenius.
