Total War: Shogun 2 coming to the Mac on July 31
Feral Interactive says the historical strategy game Total War: Shogun 2 for Mac will be released via Steam on July 31, with the Mac App Store version scheduled for release in early August.
Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA® for Windows, this is the latest installment in the Total War series to be brought to the Mac by Feral, following Rome, Empire and Napoleon. A premium version of the game will be released simultaneously and include all additional content.
Total War: Shogun 2 Collection includes the Rise of the Samurai Campaign pack: a stand-alone campaign which challenges players to establish Japan’s first Shogunate 400 years before the events of the main game. It also includes the Dragon War Battle pack, three additional clans and two unit packs. All additional content will be available separately via Steam to customers who purchase the base game.
The Steam version of Total War: Shogun 2 will also offer Mac-to-Mac online multiplayer battles, co-operative campaigns and ‘Avatar Conquest’ mode, in which players team up to form clans and fight alongside their allies to claim territories on a unique campaign map.
Total War: Shogun 2 Collection for the Mac will retail on Steam in North America for US$49.99 and will be available for download from a variety of digital partner sites worldwide including http://www.feralinteractive.com/ and Steam. Pricing may vary slightly for versions of the game sold on other stores, including the Mac App Store.
