beyerdynamic to introduce the A 200 p at next week's CES
At next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, beyerdynamic will unveil the A 200 p. Developed with the digital specialists from Astell&Kern and Heilbronn audio and headphones, it's a compact DAC with an integrated headphone amplifier.
The core of the A 200 p is a Wolfson DAC with up to 24 bit resolution at a sampling frequency of 96 kHz (HD audio). Its circuit design circumvents the internal signal processing of the connected player and receives the pure digital music data from a number of mobile playback devices such as the iPhone, iPod, iPad via Lightning connector, Android smartphones or tablets with Android 4.1 or higher via Micro-USB, as well as Mac and Windows laptops.
The A 200 p is currently the smallest mobile DAC and amplifier that can work with all of these devices on the digital level, according to the folks at beyerdynamic. After converting the digital data to analogue music signals, a amplifier with analogue output stage controls the output to the connected headphones.
With dimensions of 55 x 55 x 13 mm, the A 200 p fits in your luggage and can be stored together with your headphones in their carrying case. The integrated battery provides up to 11 hours of uninterrupted listening.
The A 200 p will cost US$299. For more info go to http://tinyurl.com/kx7qzkp .
