Griffin debuts new iPad mini cases
Griffin Technology has debuted a e line-up of cases for Apple’s iPad mini, pulling from its most popular collections, including the Survivor, IntelliCase, CinemaSeat, Folio, Slim Folio and Passport lines.
The US$59.99 Survivor (pictured) is built on a shatter-resistant polycarbonate frame clad in shock-absorbing silicone. A built-in screen protector covers the Multi-Touch display while hinged plugs seal ports and controls. The included stand clips on, then folds open for landscape viewing and typing
The IntelliCase ($34.99-$39.99) features a protective polycarbonate case to protect the back, coupled with a hinged cover guarding the touchscreen. Fold the flexible cover to the back to make an upright workstand, or lay it down to create an incline for touching, tapping and typing. Magnets in the cover activate magnetic sensors to automatically wake the device when the case is opened and sleep when it’s closed.
The CinemaSeat ($39.99) transforms your iPad mini into an in-car entertainment system. It encloses the iDevice with cutouts for access to screen, controls and ports. On the back, an adjustable strap wraps around a car seat headrest to hold CinemaSeat in place, positioning the iPad mini for backseat riders to watch videos, listen to music or play games.
The Folio ($39.99 - $44.99): lets you carry the iPad mini like a personal notebook. The cover flips open for access to the touchscreen and closes like a book for privacy and protection. Folio’s cover folds to the back and locks into place to create a stand with adjustable viewing angles. Inside, Folio frames and protects iPad mini with microsuede lining, and provides unhindered access to cameras, ports and controls.
The Slim Folio ($39.99) is a one-piece case lined with microsuede that flips open foraccess to the touchscreen and closes like a book. Flip the cover around and lock it back to turn the folio into a two-position workstand. Custom cutouts give access to camera lens, controls and connectors.
The Passport ($34.99) features a one-piece folio design that opens like a book to reveal the iPad mini screen, and is held shut by an elastic band closure. Lined with a soft microsuede interior to protect the tablet from scratches and smudges, Passport comes in two patterns.
