Gyft announces integration with iOS 6's Passbook
Gyft (www.gyft.com), a company "devoted to making gift card management easy," has announced its complete application integration with Apple’s Passbook on iOS 6. It offers retailers a way to push gift cards to Passbook while giving consumers even more flexibility and convenience for storing, sending, and redeeming their gift cards on Apple’s mobile devices, says Vinny Lingham, CEO of Gyft.
Gyft recently debuted its mobile app as a TechCrunch Disrupt finalist, launching with more than 200 major retailers, including Amazon.com, Brookstone, Lowe’s, and Sephora. Backed by Google Ventures, Gyft provides its partners several ways to connect with customers to ensure that no gift card goes unused, according to Lingham.
Gyft also enables consumers to manage all of their gift cards in one place by entering gift card information into the Gyft app. Those cards are securely stored and can be redeemed either in-store or online. Gyft users can send gift cards to their friends and family members as well via Facebook, email, or text.
