Campaign to fund AudioGlove for iPhone launches on Kickstarter
A new iPhone case has been introduced on the Kickstarter.com crowdfunding website. The AudioGlove iPhone case purportedly uses patented Natural Sound Amplification technology to dramatically increase the iPhone's volume by 10-12 decibels and improves the performance of its microphone.
The funding goal is US$30,000; if successful, the proceeds will be used to defray the cost of the die-cast mold and final production of the matching AudioGlove solid aluminum stand, as well as the manufacturing cost of new cases. The Kickstarter campaign will run for only 40 days from the launch date.
The AudioGlove is a two-piece polycarbonate protective case that slides open to create an acoustically engineered waveguide chamber. This chamber amplifies and redirects sound waves toward the user, and provides "warmer," less distorted sound, according to its inventor, Falco Freeman. It also channels the user's voice into the microphone more efficiently, and blocks background noise and wind, he adds.
The AudioGlove case also provides protection and comes in interchangeable colors. Freeman has also invented solid aluminum stand, designed specifically for use with the case. The stand makes using the AudioGloved iPhone even easier and more convenient during conference calls, while typing on a computer, or multi-tasking around the house, Freeman says.
The AudioGlove alone will retail for $35, but as part of the Kickstarter campaign, backers will receive a case and stand for pledges of $45. There is a sliding scale of rewards for pledge amounts.
