Apple has offered to refund Australian customers who felt misled about the 4G capabilities of the new iPad. reports the "BBC" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17532613).

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the country's consumer watchdog has taken Apple to court for false advertising because the tablet computer doesn't work on Australia's 4G network. Apple's lawyers said they were willing to publish a clarification, but said the company didn't mislead customers. On its website, Apple does state that 4G LTE is only supported on selected networks in the US and Canada.

Meanwhile, the Swedish Consumer Agency may investigate Apple's promotions for the new iPad for "misleading" marketing related to high-speed 4G LTE connectivity, while officials in the U.K. are also assessing consumer complaints, according to "The New York Times" (http://blogs.wsj.com/tech-europe/2012/03/28/sweden-may-investigate-apple...). The agency has purportedly complaints from several customers over the new iPad and its inability to connect to 4G LTE networks outside of North America.
