Selectsoft has released Jewels of Nile, a match-3 game, on the the Mac App Store. It requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher and costs US$4.99.

Here's how the game is described: "Capture the mythical jewels of Anuket, goddess of the Nile River, before they disappear forever. Use your incredible scarab shooter to move left, right, and even up and down for fantastic never-before-seen shooting angles.

"Developed by Selectsoft in partnership with Teyon, Jewels of the Nile features a special shooter, amazing power-ups, accelerated graphics and over 1000 action-packed levels. The gameplay combines match-3 strategy with arcade-style shooting as players try to capture jeweled spheres descending along a twisting river. The classic gameplay is enhanced by easy-to-use controls and a unique u-shaped pattern shooter. Move left, right, and up and down to adjust your aim and choose the best location to launch your attack. Test your skills as the pathway fills and the targets get trickier to hit."
