iPhone/iPod touch/iPad apps for May 18

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Western Digital, maker of the WD TV media player family, has announced the newest version of its WD Photos photo viewer app, which now works with the WD TV Live Hub media center from an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. It's free, but users must own a WD TV Live Hub media center and register with WD's free, secure remote access service to use it.

PageNet Company has released The Night Flier, an US$0.99 game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod. The player controls an adventurous bat setting off for a long journey, and its aim is to fly as far as possible to score the maximum number of points. There are a lot of dangers and obstacles both on the rooftops and in the sky.

Research-Digital has introduced Responsive for iPhone, a $0.99 app for responding efficiently to unanswered calls. Responding is done by sending a predefined text message, by setting an automatic reminder for a call back call or by simply calling back quickly to the last unanswered call. Responsive also enables editing your own messages in any language.

Bambino Avenue has unveiled Dano Pirate & The Numbers 1.0, an educational app that turns maths and learning to count into a pirate-themed adventure for preschoolers and kindergartners. It features a cast of cartoon characters who guide young players through 20 numbers-based mini-games. Dano Pirate & The Numbers costs $1.99 for the iPhone/iPod touch version and $2.99 for the iPad version.

Candywriter has debuted Your Move 1.0, a word solver for iOS. Completely automated, the $0.99 app is designed to serve as an assistant for word game enthusiasts. It uses optical character recognition to provide the player an edge. It's designed as a companion to Words with Friends and Scrabble.

PlacePop has rolled out Spot, a free, location-aware lifestyle app for iOS devices. It's designed for people "who are passionate about dining out and discovering new places in their city, and focuses on making that experience much richer by helping people to bookmark, organize and recall all the places they want to try." With Spot you can capture places you find interesting as you hear about them from friends, local review sites, newspapers and magazines.

Vito Technology has updated Solar Walk, its 3D Solar System model , to version 1.7. The $2.99 app "takes you on a grand tour around our cosmic backyard." Version 1.7 sports search, explanatory movies, Twitter and Facebook sharing.

Go Time Games has announced Angularity 1.0.1, an update to their free puzzle game for iOS devices. This update adds support for Apple's Game Center service, allowing players to post their high scores to leaderboards.

John Vella has updated SongCatcher, his music recording app for iOS devices, to version 1.3. It's a $0.99 recording studio environment for the iPhone platform. SongCatcher features both audio and MIDI recording covering.

Sulaba has released Sign Docs 1.2, an update to their $4.99 productivity app for the iPad. It lets you send a file by email and let clients return it to you with their signature and date.

KDS Investments has created Burney for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's a $0.99, story-driven puzzle game. It takes players on a delightful journey to guide the orb of fire on its way to freedom through a mix of challenging levels and zones.

JPY Consulting has updated GeoPhoto, the $0.99 location aware photography app for the iPad, to version 2.0. It lets users virtually travel around the world by finding geo located pictures. GeoPhoto also lets users share pictures via email, save them to the photo album, post to Facebook and more.

Bobasoba has introduced Count the Days 1.1, an update to its $0.99 lifestyle application for iOS devices. Tou can add up to 15 occasions and Count the Days will keep track of the days remaining until or since each one. It can also be used to remember occasions in the past. Version 1.1 adds native support for the iPad, as well as bringing improvements to formatting and overall stability.

Keboola Mobile has updated Tracklings, their event-based location sharing application for iOS devices, to version 1.2. It's designed to help you organize an event by sharing your location with other participants, giving you full control over who participates and who and when can see your location and status updates. Tracklings will be available for free this weekend only; it's normally $1.99.

Streetline has rolled out a new version of Parker, its free, real-time consumer parking application. The new version sports partner-enabled integrated mobile payment options in 84 locations across the United States, live garage data, consumer feedback, “Park Now” location tracking, and payment reminders including a timer and parking history.
