Skipscreen (http://www.skipscreen.com) is a new Firefox extension that skips ads on sites like Rapidshare, Megaupload, Mediafire. There's also a new companion app for Mac users, Download Songs (http://godownloadsongs.com) that's based on a similar premise. 

 "We got sick of waiting for downloads, watching folders, clicking on files, songs starting and stopping, throwing stuff in the trash," says Ying Cheng, one of the developers. "Download Songs watches your download folders, moves any new music into iTunes, and cleans up the files. It lets you search for songs on the internet from the app or using a hotkey. The search feature is really fun and makes the whole experience feel like magic (our custom google search called Skipsearch will be included in the next release). It does all the annoying steps that some people might not notice, but takes a bunch of time."
