Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Aquafadas has announced Xmas Alphabet for the iPad. The US$1.99 app lets children "discover the amazing world of words and letters in a Christmasy spirt." It comes with backgrounds with Christmas characters, letting kids to learn to spell words from a Christmas themed choice of vocabulary.

Amazing Books has released My First Trip to Washington DC 3D 1.0, an interactive 3D travel book that showcases Washington DC. In the $4.99, you join the Lil' Travelers, Hanna, Tommy and Arthur as they take a vacation in Washington DC over the Fourth of July holiday. The first in Amazing Books new Lil' Traveler series, "My First Trip to Washington DC 3D" is designed for children three-plus, is 43 pages in length and packed with fun facts and animation.

AX apps has revealed Funky Fish 1.0 for iOS, a $0.99 side-scroller game set underwater. In landscape mode the screen scrolls continuously from right to left carrying in the undersea current bubbles enclosing cakes, birds, and champagne bottles. The player controls the buoyancy of the single fish: touch the screen and the fish rises, don't touch the screen and it descends. The object is to collect as many bubbles as possible, while avoiding fishhooks and bubbles enclosing monsters.

Munich Appsters has introduced Metropolis Compass 1.0, a location-aware flagship app for iOS devices. It's a $0.99 iPad compass that shows direction in a combination with a map of the area where the user is located. Rotating the device also rotates the map to always match your direction.

Cogniflame Pty has served up Munch It! 1.0 for iOS devices. In the free app, you can gorge yourself on 100 different styles of virtual candies, cakes, biscuits and lollies across five themed arenas.

Inspired by his newborn son Luke, surf legend Shaun Tomson has created "Surf Creatures," a $3.99 children's storybook iPhone app for families featuring 26 animated rhymes about fierce and friendly creatures that live under his surfboard. It offers a Storytalk feature, enabling up to four people to record their own voices so the whole family can rhyme about the cool creatures that live in the surf zone.

Chuck Fischer has unveiled The Holiday Snow Globe 1.0, a free interactive snow globe app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The app lets you enjoy Christmas on your iPhone or iPad with falling snow and hand-painted backgrounds by the the artist and author. You can choose from five hand-painted images created exclusively for CFischer's holiday apps, or create a personalized Snow Globe scene by uploading an image from your own photo library for the background.

Mindwarm has debuted AddTo Las Vegas 1.0 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The $0.99 app lets you create your own travel guide from your photos and notes. You can create your own map with the highlights you want, photo album and travel diary. At any time you can add a note or photo to your album. If you have allowed location, then your current location will be added to that note and photo.

John Parron has rolled out ActorsRez 1.0, an app designed to help actors build professional resumes on their iPhone and iPod touch. Normally priced at $9.99, it's available for $4.99 for the next 30 days.

Viaden Mobile has presented Barcode Scanner: Scan, Shop, Save 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It's a $0.99 bargain-seeking and penny-saving tool designed to help shoppers find info on sales, special offers and price reductions all over your neighborhood, state or even nationwide.

Wyse Technology, which specializes in cloud client computing, is offering a free edition of PocketCloud for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It's a remote desktop app. The company is also announcing updates to its entire iOS suite that includes a new, simpler auto-discovery method for connecting to remote computers.

Just in time for the holidays, fans of the funny pages will be able to access their favorite comic strips from wherever they are with the launch of the DailyINK mobile application from King Features Syndicate. Available for free on iPhone and iPod touch today and on the iPad soon, subscribers to DailyINK can use the app to access King Features’ complete line-up of approximately 90 daily comic strips and editorial cartoons, including favorites such as Beetle Bailey, Blondie, Hägar the Horrible, Zits, Mutts, Bizarro, Dustin, Oh, Brother!, Dennis the Menace, The Family Circus and Baby Blues -- each updated daily.

Silly Bandz: The Game has bounced onto the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. In the game players find themselves on Silly Bandz Magical Island, a mysterious place inhabited by special Silly Starz. With a flick of the finger, players toss Silly Bandz bracelets to collect Silly Starz hidden all over the island. Players clear each challenge by collecting all of the Silly Starz, but if they strive to collect the Silly Bandz too, they add more bracelets to their collection to use when facing more difficult levels. The iPhone/iPod version costs $0.99; the iPad version is $1.99.

BeiZ has unleashed Staraoke Christmas HD 1.0 for the iPad. It's a $2.99 game that combines singing, games and friends. It lets the player control a cartoon character on their screen by singing along to various songs. The software recognizes the singer's pitch and keeps the character on the path.

Mobile Force has announced AutoRobot TD --Defend and Defeat 1.00 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The $0.99 tower defense game requires strategizing for achieving victor.

Say hi to Say Hello World 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The $1.99 app offers photos, illustrations and audios to teach youngsters about 12 different countries. Illustrated children greet users in their own language and provide pictures and sounds of national architecture, flags, animals and food. Users can view that country's flag, three photos of buildings, animals and food, as well as listen to sounds of native animals, the national anthem and more.

Stacy's BootCamp has released Stacy's Bootcamp 1.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The $5.99 application allows you to use all videos for exercise workouts geared to all levels of fitness. Developed by trainer Stacy Berman, the app essentially puts a personal trainer in a user's pocket. Routines are can be modified to be more or less challenging to accommodate all, from beginners to seasoned pros.

Crystal Dynamics has introduced Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light game. There are two versions of the app, one for iPhone and iPod touch for $6.99, and a special iPad-exclusive HD version for $9.99 that takes advantage of the device's large, high-resolution display. 

Charles Schwab clients can enjoy more convenient access to their Schwab accounts, make trades and track the markets through Schwab’s new iPhone app, now available for free. The app offers clients a view into their broader financial picture with Schwab from their iPhone, including Schwab Bank and brokerage accounts, Schwab 529 College Savings Plans and their Schwab-administered 401(k) and stock option plans.

Disney Mobile has rolled out TRON: Legacy, a $0.99 mobile game for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad based on the movie that opens this Friday. The game offers a series of competitions through 24 rounds with graphics developed to maximize the Retina Display on iPhone 4 and iPod touch as well as the large high-resolution display of iPad. The game also features a TRON Mobile Grid Championship, which will debut on Dec. 25, allowing players to compete for prizes.

Pygmies of Pocket God are making their iOS big screen debut with Pocket God: Journey to Uranus, available exclusively on iPad for $4.99. The title offers two planets to explore, as well as various ways to torture Pygmies, with plans to release new planets and games in the near future.

Playrix Entertainment has unveiled Brickshooter Egypt HD, its third internal iPad port. In Brickshooter Egypt players unravel the mysteries of ancient hieroglyphs that will help them restore the glorious pyramids. THe $4.99 app offers a brain-teasing puzzle experience across 60-plus levels.

SkyGroceries is a new, free grocery list app for the iPhone and iPod touch. It provides features for going grocery shopping efficiently.

An immersive edition of Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol" is available for the iPhone and iPod touch. Previously available on the iPad, it's now a universal app for the tablet, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod touch.  All versions are available for a single purchase price of $4.99. Current owners of the iPad version will be upgraded for free.

Nexon Mobile has unleashed the free jukebox application, DinoSingers for iOS devices. It's an application where children can interactively learn nursery songs with their parents.

Inkstone Software has updated MegaReader for iOS devices to version 2.0. The $1.99 app is a customizable iOS eBook reader that gives users access to over 1.8 million free books on the Internet. It will now run on the iPad, as well as the iPhone and iPod touch. MegaReder offers in-app connectivity with such book catalogs as Feedbooks, Project Gutenberg, Baen Free Books, Smashwords, and the Internet Archive.

Prizmo for iPhone 1.1, the all-in-one scanning and OCR application in 10 languages, is now available for download. With the new version of the $9.99 app, you can export to Evernote and MobileMe. Also, there are additional languages available for translating texts.

Renkara Media Group says their $9.99 language software AccelaStudy is now a universal application available for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The updated application offers entirely new artork for the larger iPad screen as well as a full iPad experience including support for both portrait and landscape orientations.

Aspyre Apps has updated PhotoCaddy, an update to their photography guide for iPhone and iPod touch devices, to version 1.4. It's a $3.99 handbook for photographers of all skill levels, with content that is constantly evolving thanks to an active user community. Users have access to a growing range of photography topics, with each topic providing creative suggestions, technical camera settings, and equipment recommendations. Version 1.4 is updated with new content for the holiday season.

Happy Nutz Studio has released Super Match Elements 2.0 for iPad, an update to their free match 3 game, now including a multiplayer mode. Although three or more elements in a row or column clears them from the board, players may make moves that clear no pieces. The game features a free basic game, 60 puzzle levels, five game modes, three difficulty levels in each mode and turn-based or rush multiplayer options.

SolarSpark Productions has updated WorldMic for iOS devices to version 1.6. It's a $1.99 social networking app that allows users to post a 60-second voice message free on a worldwide streaming server. The user's recording then enters the queue, to be heard by thousands of listeners. An in-app message notifies the user approximately how long it will be until their message is played. Participants may choose to record and/or listen to the global server or one of the local servers in the US, Russia, UK, etc.

Matthew King has updated 3500+ Random Fun Facts for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to version 4.4. The $0.99 app has facts about just about everything including the animal kingdom, history, food, science, sports, and more. You can learn a unique, completely random fact each day of the year. You'll even be able to save your favorite random facts in a list that you can recall, add to, or edit any time.

AKN Messaging Technologies has introduced iKnow What You‚re Really Thinking 1.2 for iOS gadgets. The free app utilizes the photo library on a users mobile device to pair photos of their friends with quotes of their inner "thoughts."

Cleversome has updated Notica, a visual memory companion for the iPhone and iPod touch, to version 1.1. It's a $2.99 productivity app focused on the concept of adding rich context to visuals, specifically photos and videos taken with the device's camera. Notica is using the newly updated Facebook iOS SDK for iOS devices, allowing a user to sign in to Facebook once for the lifetime of the application and post content without going through the connection process again.

Adva-Soft has unveiled TouchRetouch 2.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. This version of the $0.99 app adds an image viewer for all iDevices, direct sharing via social networks, a clone stamp tool, video tutorials and localized help.

Earthman Technology has updated Mad Maze Office for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to version 1.0.2. The $0.99 app is a combination of attributes of Bombman and Maze. Players flee an overbearing boss who wants them to work overtime, yet again. To escape, players must figure out how to get through the office maze, while avoiding or bombing the characters who are chasing them.

Didier Moniquet has hatched Egg Gobble 2.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. This $0.99 mobile arcade game builds on the premise of having users guide a snake left and right across the screen to eat or destroy as many falling eggs as possible. Version 2.0 includes a number of new game elements such as two modes of play.

NSC Partners has updated Winning Sports Advice for the iPhone to version 1.8. It's an update of the free professional sports handicapping app.

A Tasty Pixel has served up the Cartographer 1.1 for iOS devices. The $3.99 app combines antique cartography styling, custom Google My Maps viewing and editing, and offline maps.
