iPhone/iPod/iPad apps for Nov. 22

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Screenlife, the creators of Scene It?, has announced its new Scene It? Harry Potter App for iPhone and iPod touch and HD version for iPad are available on the Apple App Store, just in time for Warner Bros. Pictures' release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 1." Scene It? Harry Potter takes players on a journey with real movie clips, puzzles and questions from the first six films from the blockbuster Harry Potter franchise. The iPod/iPod touch version costs US$1.99, and the iPad version is $4.99.

Cleversome has released Notica 1.0, their new visual memory companion for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's an $2.99 productivity app revolving around the concept of adding rich context to visuals, specifically photos and videos taken with the device's camera. Organized in stack-like groups, Notica's main elements are cards containing a large space for photos or videos, and an expandable space at the bottom for content like text, location info and date and time.

Will Evans Apps has introduced Man Vs. Zombies 1.0, a game for iOS devices. In the $0.99, the last standing man has to shoot down all the advancing zombies and try to get a high-score. Man vs. Zombies includes various different types of zombies that will give you higher and lower scores and have different amounts of health and speed. The game features 13 levels, arcade style gameplay with arcade style graphics, as well as OpenFeint support and more.

CMG Research has unveiled Heart Rate Free 1.0 for iPhone 4, a new app that uses the device's camera to measure your heart rate. Simply place your finger over the camera lens and after a few seconds the app will display your pulse rate along with a chart showing you heart beat. The user's heart rate is measured by examining the minute changes in skin color that are caused by blood flowing in and out of the finger.

SuccessEHS, a Birmingham-based company specializing in electronic health record (EHR / EMR) and physician practice management software systems, has launched Mobile EHR for the iPhone. The free app gives physicians access to critical data they need to have greater freedom to decide when and where they complete their documentation, says Tina Graham, SuccessEHS chief operating officer.

Twigsbury has debuted Countdown to Christmas -- Holiday Puzzles 1.0, an interactive puzzle app for iPad. The $1.99 app features illustrations by the Kersten Brothers Studio, and lets you stroll through Santa's Village to open picture puzzles. When complete, the puzzles become interactive scenes with animations and sounds that bring them to life. The app includes custom recordings of 12 classic holiday melodies.

aGupieWare has rolled out “Where Is My Car Parked?,” a $0.99 app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Its developers say it "places the simplistic ability to electronically store your car's location into the palm of your hands."

Author and writer Stephen White has published AlphaBELCH -- A Children's Book About Burps for iOS devices. It's a $0.99 comic A-to-Z listing of animals who burp, leading to a parent lesson about good manners. Pages feature user-activated narration and giggle-inducing cartoon sound effects. AlphaBELCH is his first independently produced eBook for kids, and features not only White's witty rhymes, but also his narration and sound design.

Snapp! Designs has announced iDigger 1.0, an archeological, kid-friendly game for the iPhone and iPod touch. Providing educational features and free of violence, in the $0.99 the player digs his way around an excavation site in search of fossilized T-Rex bones and use them to create their own T-Rex dinosaur skeleton. After each object is dusted or sifted off, the player has an option of answering a trivia question to double their score.

Plum Amazing has released StreamKit, a customized radio station streaming applications for the iPhone and iPad. The company creates custom iPhone apps for individual or groups of radio stations. Any radio station can now have its own app for their live 24/7 streaming via the web. This technology is not just for Radio Stations but also for on-demand streaming. On-demand streaming can be used by a music publishing companies to promote their artists also by individual musicians.

BCNmultimedia has introduced Children's Christmas 1.0, a free Advent Calendar app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It's a calendar for children of all ages. Starting on Dec. 1, kids will be able to open the corresponding window every day until Christmas day. In every window you will find an illustration about a moment in the gospels on the Annunciation and the Birth of Jesus with a text and a quotation from the Bible.

Informato has rolled out iQuipment, a $19.99 software package that allows software developers and hobbyists alike to add their iPhone/iPad/iPod touch as a mobile terminal or kiosk for their Windows applications. Vendors can now replace a monitor, keyboard, mouse, thin client computer, and entangled cables with a handheld, "finger pointing" i-device.

62WestWallabyStreet is launching a Wallace and Gromit bi-monthly, free, online magazine "The Aardmag" on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch next month. The magazine centers around the work of Aardman Animations, the company behind Wallace and Gromit. The app launches in early December. The magazine has been running for a year, and has proved a huge hit with fans of all ages and all levels of interest. Tav Shande presents CrunchTime, a $0.99 app for the iPhone. It lets you track multiple projects and jobs at the same time, gain achievement badges, add friends and colleagues as well see who's working overtime.

Life Media is offering 101 Amazing Gifts 1.0 for the iPad. This $1.99 app is a "one-stop shop for everyone on your list, and showcases fab fashion finds for him and her, great ideas to make your home cozy and comfy, the coolest gear for the tech-minded, and one-of-a-kind treasures that are sure to delight."

Prativo Group has cooked up KitchenPad Timer 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. The $1.99 app takes a visual approach to timer management. You can set timers with minimal steps.

The Appsperts has produced Calendar At-A-Glance 1.0, a $0.99 iOS app that offers a view of your daily and monthly events and tasks without requiring any interaction from the user. It features the standard calendar-manipulation operations in addition to some new ones. Calendar At-A-Glance is fully integrated with the built-in Calendar. This means it can work with Google Calendar, with Microsoft Exchange, etc.

James Hollender has released iProteins 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The $1.99 app offers information for vegetarians, vegans and bodybuilders, iProteins allows users to find out the protein content in over 1,100 different food servings. Based on the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, the foods are rated from extremely low to extremely high in protein content.

Webvision Internet Services has announced Slika 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The $2.99 app lets you create professional looking finished pictures and cards. Users have the options to save, email and print their creations to share. There are many themed templates featured in Slika, including harvest and Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more.

With the release of Dolch Sight Words: Learn to Read 2.0, Steep Turn Software hopes to improve children's reading fluency by providing an alternative to paper flash cards. The $0.99 app includes the entire Dolch Word List and the Dolch Nouns. The app can speak each word. This allows children to practice independently and get immediate feedback. The app also allows new words to be created and recorded.

Yasmin Studios has published Snow White -- Children's Interactive Storybook HD 1.0 for the iPad, their latest interactive eBook. This $0.99 interactive version features expressive, life-like graphics, professional narration, optional symphonic musical accompaniment, characters that can be moved and respond to touch, advanced lighting and animation effects, and forward and backward page turns.

Ruckus Media Group, a global mobile family entertainment company, and its Mobile Media unit say "The Velveteen Rabbit " application, as told by Meryl Streep, will be available free of charge (regularly $3.99) for the upcoming holiday -- Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday (Nov. 25-29) exclusively through the Apple App Store.

TotsMobile has introduced BugMath, an iPhone game that uses Singapore's math principles to teach young kids ages 3-6 core math concepts. The $1.99 app teaches fundamental math concepts in a graduated format, beginning with counting with the aid of visual cues and progressing on to show the correlation of these objects to numbers and words -- and later on, number ordering and basic addition and subtraction.

TV comic prankster Dom Joly has teamed up with app developer Neon Play to release a $0.99 collection of travel images, character sounds and ramblings from his TV characters and new "Dark Tourist" book. The app includes Joly's take on his visits to places like North Korea and Cambodia. Users are also treated to a soundboard selection including the Gardner, Traffic Warden and Big Mobile Guy.

FindScape has updated FindScape-Memory Matching Game, their memory game for iPhone users. Game play in the US$0.99 app involves studying a tray of objects before they're removed and hidden within a new "Scape." Players then must remember where the objects are in order to win the game. FindScape is appropriate for ages four and up, promotes cognitive learning skills and is integrated with iTunes for iPod listening during gameplay.

Solar Spark Productions has announced Remotomatic Camera 1.1 for iOS devices, an update to their $1.99 app that provides Bluetooth remote control of any iPhone camera. A transmitter/receiver, it enables the user to control most camera functions remotely, producing pictures with a tripod-mounted iPhone. The photographer may include herself in the shot using either the remote or the self-timing, delayed shutter release. The version 1.1 update adds remote control of the video camera as well.

Plum Amazing has released SpeechMaker 1.1 for the iPad. Available for a special introductory price of $5.99 till Nov. 29, when it rises to $14.99. SpeechMaker is designed to give students, teachers, politicians, lecturers or any kind of speech maker everything needed to create, practice, hear and give speeches. It can archive thousands of speeches. SpeechMaker comes with the text of many famous speeches built in, some include the original audio too. SpeechMaker can import and export the text and audio of speeches in a variety of ways.

AppBC has launched touchAble 1.1, an update to its Ableton Live controller app for the iPad. The $24.99 allows musicians, DJs, producers and performers to control and perform Ableton Live directly from their Apple tablets. You can perform live from anywhere within Wi-Fi range while keeping latency at a minimum. Version 1.1 adds a number of enhancements and some new features.

US criminal attorney Ralph Behr has produced Say No to Police 1.01, a $9.99 iPhone/iPad book. Using 21st century e-book functionalities the app puts at fingertips hundreds of one paragraph criminal law concepts.

Dear Panda ha unveiled CourseNotes 2.1 for iPad, an update of the $4.99 note taking app for students who want to stay organized and collaborate with classmates, educators and groups. CourseNotes 2.1, in conjunction with the release of iOS 4.2, adds brand new features like calendar integration and over-the-air printing.

WineSpace has announced ReverseCamera 1.6 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. With this $0.99 app, users can enjoy reverse-playback movies and voices right after the moment you shot videos. Version 1.6 now includes a share feature for YouTube and Facebook.

Adamcode has released Christmas Gifts List 2.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 app is designed as a companion for budget-conscious Black Friday consumers, allowing shoppers to input wish lists and budgets for everyone on their holiday shopping list and keep an eye on how close to those budgets they are getting as they check off purchased items. Version 2.0 includes a new Retina display optimized interface, in addition to full iOS 4 multitasking support.

MobileApp Systems has intrroduced iLuaBox 1.1, a Lua scripting environment running on all iOS 4.2 compatible devices. It's a $9.99, embeddable scripting language. Version 1.1 not only adds universal device compatibility, but also includes usability enhancements such as gesture driven full screen modes and improved text entry.
