iPhone/iPod/iPad apps for Sept. 2

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Hairy Monster Studios has announced Roll Em Hoops HD 1.0, their latest game made exclusively for the iPad. The US$1.99 game combines Skee-Ball like play with the classic basketball shooting games. You flick your finger to roll the ball up the alley into one of five hoops racking up points and unlocking bonus levels such as Rainbow Jumpers, COW, We've Got Spirit and Bombs Away.

Hashsoft has released myPill 1.0, their first app for iOS devices. It's an $1.99 app that helps women who are taking birth control pills to track their pills pack, remember to take daily pill and plan future events, track history and more. myPill's icon badge indicates how many pills are left at the pack, or alternatively how many days left until the period start. Users are able to customize the message of alerts, password protect data and more.

KeitaiArts has introduced GameQuartet 1.0, its first game for iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 app packages four newly created, casual games in a single app: Peg Solitaire, Boule, Sliding Tiles, and Word Squares. Boule is a version of roulette, while the other three games are unique puzzles.

Kaleidescape, which specializes in movie servers, has debuted a free app for the iPhone that simplifies the movie-shopping experience for Kaleidescape customers. The app scans a DVD or Blu-ray Disc barcode, and then displays whether or not that title is on the owner's Kaleidescape System, and if so, in what format.

Palisades, a New Jersey car insurance company, has launched a free iPhone application available to all Palisades customers and New Jersey residents. The iPhone/iPod touch app offers a variety of resources, including the ability to store insurance information, click-to-call on-the-go emergency contact lists, easy accident reporting and instant access to important car maintenance records including date of last service, next oil change, and mileage and maintenance reminders.

Namco has rolled out the PC hit, Mishap: An Accidental Haunting, on iOS devices. Developed by Virtual Prophecy Entertainment, this addictive hidden object game is available on Apple’s App Store for $4.99 and $6.99 for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, respectively.

Mindwarm has announced Swami Roberts 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. This "update of the Magic 8 ball for smartphone technology" costs US$0.99.

Citizen Concepts is offering PatriotApp. an iPhone application that empowers citizens to assist government agencies in creating safer, cleaner, and more efficient communities via social networking and mobile technology. This app was founded on the belief that citizens can provide the most sophisticated and broad network of eyes and ears necessary to prevent terrorism, crime, environmental negligence, or other malicious behavior. In honor of Patriots around the world, Citizen Concepts will discount the normal $2.99 download price to $.99 for the month of September.

AssistiveWare has announced Proloquo2Go 1.4 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Version 1.4 is a update to the $189.99 consumer device-based augmentative and alternative communication solution for people who cannot speak. The new version has been optimized for the gorgeous retina display of the iPhone 4 and brand new iPod touch and includes updated higher quality voices.

Frimby Limited has released SongStumblr 2.0, an update to its free music discovery and sharing app for iOS devices. It allows users to share and discover music from people across the globe. Users can listen to discovered songs for free, purchase songs, or find information about songs from online databases.
