Apple ranks fourth in the latest UK Experian Hitwise Hot 100 E-Retailer list (http://www.hitwise.com/uk). Hitwise provides insights on how eight million UK Internet users interact with more than one million web sites, across 165+ industries.

Apple.com is listed above the retail sites of Windows manufacturers such as HP (ranked 24th), Dell (36th). iTunes ranks 66th. The top three on the list are Amazon, Argos and Play.com.

Experian Hitwise measures the largest sample of Internet users -- 25 million worldwide, including eight million in the UK. The company has developed proprietary software that Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use to analyze web site logs created on their network. This anonymous data is aggregated and provided to Hitwise, where it's analyzed to provide a range of industry standard metrics relating to the viewing of web sites including page requests, visits, average visit length, search terms and behavior.
