Nvidia CUDA 2.0 released to production
Nvidia has announced the production release of CUDA 2.0, the latest version of its C language programming environment for GPUs that enables software developers to tap into the massively parallel architecture of the GPU for the acceleration of complex computational problems. This latest production release of the CUDA software suite includes support for 32 and 64-bit Windows Vista and Mac OS X as well as 3D textures and hardware interpolation to increase the efficiency of applications such as medical volume reconstruction and oil and gas seismic computing. Also included in CUDA 2.0 is an Adobe Photoshop plug-in example for both PC and Mac versions of the software. AKVIS Chameleon Plug-in 6.0 available
Akvis has released version 6.0 of its photo collage plug-in Akvis Chameleon (http://akvis.com/en/chameleon/index.php) for Mac and Windows. It adds a Montage mode and improved compatibility with Photoshop Elements 6.0. In Montage mode, for instance, you can take a rectangular part of the source image and then use two pencils -- red and blue-- to roughly indicate the parts that should appear on the resulting photo collage -- for instance, a figure of a person, and the parts that should blend away -- the rest of the background and irrelevant objects. MediaSilo adds direct FTP video upload

Falkon Ware's new SerialMailer 5.7 comes with an inbuild mail server. Bulk mails can now be posted directly fron any Mac running OS X 10.4 Tiger and above simply by choosing the "Local Server" option. A regular mail account is no longer neccessary. Another new feature are the rewritten special fields. They come with options for combined rules and a grown field for entries, making it possible to insert content of any type. Even posting messages in different languages in a single go can easily be done. On top it is now possible to move and turn graphics anywhere in an e-mail document. Reinda makes 'iMac Carry-On Pockets'
Reinda (http://www.reinda.de), a German-based company, has announced a line of "iMac Carry-on Pockets" for transporting 20 and 24-inch iMacs. They have a black design made out of "hard-wearing fabric" that offers protection against moving around. These pockets are produced in eumuenster and wear the sign " made in Germany". They're designed to be light, waterproof and well-padded. A should strap enables you to transport the iMac on your shoulder.
