FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INSIDER ADDS CDS ON DEMAND TO ITS LINE OF MAC UPDATING SERVICES
Users Can Now Request Up-to-the-Minute Collections of Software Updaters

February 27, 2001 [Carlsbad, California] Insider Software today added
CDs-on-Demand to its five star rated Insider UpdateAgent software updating
service for Macintosh computers. In addition to online Internet access,
users can now request an up-to-the minute snapshot of all updaters
available from over 2,000 software publishers and have them sent the next
business day.

CD FORMAT VERY HELPFUL TO ADMINISTRATORS AND CONSULTANTS
While the online version of Insider UpdateAgent is the best solution for
many Internet users, the CD version of the service is particularly helpful
for system administrators, consultants and others managing multiple
Macintosh systems.

"Insider has had numerous requests for a service that offers the latest
Macintosh software updaters all in one place," remarked Rio Sabadicci,
president of Insider Software. "In 24 hours, we can give them a set of CDs
that they can carry with them or keep in their library to bring all the
software on their users' Macs current."

CDS ALSO USEFUL FOR END USERS
End users will also find the UpdateAgent CD service an effective time
saver. "The CDs are also particularly useful to end users who haven't
updated their systems in the last several months or utilize dialup or slow
connections," continued Sabadicci. "You can utilize the CDs to bring
systems up-to-date quickly, then use UpdateAgent's online version to keep
them that way."

INCLUDES AUTOMATIC UPDATING SOFTWARE
Customers purchasing CD versions receive a full set of updaters from over
2,000 Macintosh developers. They also receive UpdateAgent software that
automatically scans a Macintosh to discover the versions of applications
installed on the system, then determine which updaters are required to make
the system current. Users can then specify which updaters they wish to
install. At the same time, users can access Insider's Internet-based
updating service.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The Insider UpdateAgent CD-on-Demand service is available immediately,
costs $89.95 US, and includes a full year of online access. Shipping via US
Priority Mail is an extra $10.00 and faster shipping methods are available
at extra cost. The online version of UpdateAgent alone is priced $49.95 US
per year and includes a full year of Internet-based software updates. Both
versions are available for purchase from Insider's web site at
www.insidersoftware.com. For more information, users can send mail to
updateagent@insidersoftware.com or call 1-800-700-6340 or +1-760-804-9900.

ABOUT INSIDER UPDATEAGENT
Insider UpdateAgent brings every application and operating system program
on a Macintosh system current with the latest software updates released by
over 2,000 software vendors. After determining precisely which updaters are
required to bring a system up-to-date, UpdateAgent downloads the updaters
over the Internet or copies them from CDs. The program can run
automatically at regular intervals, maintains the confidentiality of users'
hard drive contents, and provides hot web links to vendors' web sites.

INDUSTRY PRAISE FOR INSIDER UPDATEAGENT
Insider UpdateAgent's advanced capabilities have earned it coveted
five-star rating from ZDnet and a "Freakin Awesome!" rating from MacAddict.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Insider Updates requires one megabyte of memory to run on the Macintosh
system being updated, as well as whatever disk space is required to store
any relevant updaters.

develops and markets software products that make computers run better. In
addition to Insider UpdateAgent, Insider also produces Insider FontAgent,
