REAL SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES CUBIES WINNERS

REALbasic users in 8 categories recognized for excellence by REAL Software.

January 22, 2001. Austin, TX - REAL Software today announced the winners of
its Cubie awards, adding a category in the process. Choosing the winners
was difficult because so many developers submitted entries. The categories
are; Advocate of the Year, Cross-Platform, Developer Tool, Game, Internet,
Mac OS X, Utility, Overall, and Business.

"We are proud to see so many fantastic applications, custom classes, and
plug-ins submitted for consideration. Choosing winners from over one
hundred entries was a challenge, but we think we picked some great examples
that demonstrate the skill of our users and the power and ease-of-use of
REALbasic, said Geoff Perlman, President and CEO of REAL Software. "I'm
already looking forward to next year.".

"I want to take an opportunity to thank our generous co-sponsors for
providing prizes in addition to the free upgrades we are offering," added
Lorin Rivers, REAL Software Director of Marketing. "Of course a huge thank
you to all the contestants, and I must say I have new respect for the
judges of other contests."

REAL Software's co-sponsors include Aspyr, MacPlay, UNI SOFTWARE PLUS,
MacAddict, MacTech Magazine, DevDepot, and ActiveBag.
