QLogic Unveils SAN Express Storage Networking for SMBs

Designed for Channel Partners to Easily Migrate Millions of SMBs from DAS
to SAN

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., -- July 20, 2005 -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), the
leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), stackable switches and
blade server switches, today introduced SAN Express, a portfolio of
products built from the ground up for first time SAN users. The SAN Express
line is designed for QLogic channel partners around the world to easily
migrate small and medium businesses (SMBs) from direct attached storage to
SANs. The low cost SAN Express line is designed to accelerate SAN
penetration of global markets, including the fast growing Asia-Pacific and
Eastern European markets. The SAN Express product line features SANbox
Express 1400 switches, SANblade Express 200 host bus adapters, SANsurfer
Express software, and SAN Express Starter Kits. A turn-key SAN Express
Starter Kit with one switch, two HBAs, software and accessories has an MSRP
of only $3,295 and can be installed by a technical generalist in minutes.

"QLogic has been providing great technologies inside many of the storage
products used up and down the enterprise. The company is innovating again
by putting their technologies into simplistic packages for small to medium
businesses," said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst, Enterprise
Strategy Group. "While storage people often overlook this market -- it
can't be ignored any longer. All the significant growth -- in almost any
metric you care to measure, will come from the SMB space."

Small and Medium Businesses Need Continuous Access to their Business Data
The lifeblood of Global 2000 corporations is continuous access to their
business data. That's why the Global 2000 have migrated their storage from
DAS to SAN over the last ten years. Over six hundred thousand companies in
the U.S., with a total of almost three million servers, need continuous
access to their business data too. With products like SAN Express, these
companies will be able to migrate their storage from DAS to SAN in the
years ahead.

QLogic SAN Express - Simple, Low Cost Products and Solutions Simple, low
cost SAN Express products are now available to resellers and technical
consultants to help small and medium businesses achieve higher utilization
of their storage and to better protect their business data.

The QLogic SAN Express line of products and solutions include:

SANsurfer Express -- Unique Windows-based software that can automatically
discover and install a complete SAN in minutes.

SANbox Express 1000 Series Fibre Channel Switches -- The most integrated
and compact Fibre Channel switch ever built. The new SANbox Express model
1400 switch features ten high performance 2Gb ports in a package the size
of a home router -- and it's as easy to use.

SANblade Express 200 Series Fibre Channel HBAs -- The easy to install
SANblade 200 Series adapters connect servers to small workgroup SANs.

SAN Express Starter Kit - A turn-key storage network with one switch, two
HBAs, software and accessories. The SAN Express Starter Kit has an MSRP of
only $3,295 and can be installed by a technical generalist in minutes.
