PRODUCT RELEASE

PowerPrint to Expand USB Mac Printing Options

Vancouver, Canada, October 1, 1998 - Infowave Imaging Inc. (VSE:IWM) today
announced it will extend the Macintosh printing capabilities of its
award-winning PowerPrint software by adding support for Apple's new line of
USB computers. The new PowerPrint USB-to-Parallel (PowerPrint USB) release
will ship in December 1998.

PowerPrint USB will enable USB port Macintosh computers to print to
hundreds of popular parallel-port printers. With PowerPrint USB, USB port
Macintosh users won't be restricted to the small number of USB compatible
printers available on the market today. Users will have the freedom to
print to almost any parallel-port laser printer, inkjet printer, specialty
printer, or MFP they choose.

PowerPrint USB consists of a suite of Macintosh printer drivers and a
unique USB-to-parallel cable for connecting USB port Macintosh computers to
parallel port-printers. Designed to be flexible and portable, PowerPrint
USB's ease-of-use and familiar UI provides a true Mac-friendly printing
experience.

PowerPrint USB is ideal for any Macintosh user who wants to: print to a PC
compatible printer they already own; take advantage of the affordable laser
or inkjet printers available for PC's; or use an impact or other specialty
printer. PowerPrint USB will also provide users of future USB port
PowerBooks with the assurance they can print to virtually any available
printer while on the road.

"With its mass market appeal, simplicity and stunning industrial design the
iMac has accelarated industry momentum for USB," said Mike Shebanek, USB
product manager at Apple Computer. "It's great for our customers that they
can utilize their current peripherals, through solutions like Infowave's
PowerPrint, as USB products come to market."

"It's important to provide USB Macintosh users with the same printing
options as serial port Mac users currently enjoy," says Bijan Sanii,
General Manager of Infowave's Imaging Division. "PowerPrint USB will
provide a flexible, portable, and affordable solution."

Available in English, German, and French, PowerPrint USB will carry an
Infowave price of US$99 and will be available through Infowave's worldwide
network of distributors, resellers, mail order catalogs, and direct from
Infowave. Upgrades from PowerPrint Serial to Parallel are available direct
from Infowave for US$69.
