Next Generation Gigabit Ethernet Offers higher performance for Power Macintosh

San Diego, CA -- Team ASA Inc., manufacturer of high-performance
networking products for PrePress and Digital Media professionals,
today announced its second generation Gigabit Ethernet adapter. The
Stallion-GE-II is a new high performance line of Gigabit Ethernet
Network Interface Cards (NIC) for Power Macintosh based platforms.
These NICs bundled with Team ASAs PDQ software provides a high speed
cross-platform file transfer solution for professionals transferring
large multi-megabyte files across their computer network, saving time
and money in daily production operations.

The new Stallion-GE-II is an advanced series of PCI Network
Interface Cards (NIC) utilizing the IEEE P802.3z specification for
support of 1 Gigabit Ethernet. The Stallion-GE-II series will be
available with a fiber interface, a copper interface will be
available Q2-99. As with all Stallion adapters, the Stallion-GE-II
comes with Power Macintosh and PDQ Protocol drivers. Stallion-GE-II
drivers for Windows-NT, Solaris, and Novell Netware based platforms
are also available.

Most manufacturers are just introducing their first generation
efforts for the Macintosh, the second generation Stallion-GE-II
offers improved performance and efficiency said Mark Murray
President of Team ASA, Inc. The Stallion-GE-II significantly raises
the performance ante. The Stallion-GE-II is powered by onboard dual
32 bit RISC processors and can be configured for Fat Packets to
optimize transmit and receive paths. Mark Murray continued, The
high performance Stallion-GE-II when coupled with Team ASAs high
speed protocol PDQ provides the highest performance network available
on any Power Macintosh today

We need to produce 110,000 plates for printing a year said Tony
Wallace of R. R. Donnelly and Sons an existing Team ASA Customer.
Right now only about 30% of those are direct to plate, Team ASAs
Gigabit Ethernet solution makes it possible to do 100% of this work
in digital domain continued Wallace.

The suggested retail price for the Stallion-GE Gigabit Ethernet
adapter is $1,495.00 which includes the Team ASA Open Transport, and
PDQ Express high speed cross platform file transfer application. The
Stallion-GE-II is due for release in early January, 1999. You can
