Fantom Drives Announces FireStorm Product Line FireWire Based Data
Storage for G3, G4, and iMacDV

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - November 4, 1999 - Fantom Drives today unveiled
their new product line of FireWire based storage products, FireStorm. The
perfect solution for data-storage intensive creative-content and multimedia
applications, FireStorm products work seamlessly with Apple's new iMacDV
and Power Macintosh G4 computers, along with all FireWire capable "Beige"
and "Blue & White" Power Macintosh G3 computers.

Scheduled to ship before Thanksgiving, FireStorm Hard Disk Drives are the
perfect companion to Apple's iMacDV with Final Cut Pro. Proudly
continuing the tradition of high quality drive assemblies that are standard
in their SCSI and USB based products, Fantom Drives has built the
FireStorm Hard Disk Drive product line around high quality 5,400RPM and
7,200RPM drives from industry-leader IBM. Fantom Drives has also chosen to
bundle CharisMac Engineering's Anubis Formatting Utility with the
FireStorm Hard Disk Drives, creating the most compatible FireWire based
hard disk drive on the market today.

"Digital Video consumes tons of storage. iMacDV owners need an easy and
efficient way to expand the stock drive-capacity of their computers,"
explained Ryan Stern, Director of Research and Development at Fantom
Drives. "The FireStorm Hard Disk Drive products offer the perfect DV
solution - large drive capacities; industry standard software; simple
installation - while maintaining a great performance edge."

Fantom Drives also began taking immediate orders for the FireStorm
CD-ReWritable 4x4x20 Recorder. With a high-quality Ricoh mechanism at its
heart, the FireStorm CD-ReWritable drive is designed to address the
shortcomings of similar USB and SCSI-based CD-Recorders by providing a
reliable, easy-to-use solution that can be used by novice and professional
users alike. As FireWire provides a bandwidth over 33 times faster than
that of USB, this drive can record and re-write CD-ROM and audio CDs at a
solid 4x (600KB/Sec), and can read CD-ROM media at up to 20x (3,000KB/Sec).
The FireStorm CD-ReWritable 4x4x20 Recorder will be bundled with CharisMac
Engineering's Discribe CD-Mastering Software will ship to end users and
dealers early in the week of November 8th. U.S. Suggested Retail Price: $449

"Recent events in the data storage industry have created a vortex in the
availability of FireWire storage peripherals," commented Rezza Zaimi,
General Manager at Fantom Drives. "Fantom Drives intends to aggressively
fill this void by empowering the creativity of our End Users with the
introduction of our FireStorm CD-ReWritable and Hard Disk Drives."

FireWire was invented by Apple Computer in the early 1990s and was adopted
by the IEEE as a standard (IEEE 1394) in 1995 as a cross-platform
high-speed serial technology that can move large amounts of data between
computers and peripheral devices. It features simplified cabling, hot
swapping, and transfer speeds of up to 400 megabits per second. FireWire
is the one of the fastest peripheral standards ever developed, which makes
it great for use with multimedia peripherals such as video camcorders and
other high-speed devices like the latest hard disk drives, CD-recorders,
scanners, and printers.

Fantom Drives is a data storage solution company dedicated to extending the
reach of computing technology through innovation. Fantom Drives' current
product line includes Standalone CD Duplication Systems, CD-ROM, CD-R & RW,
DVD-ROM & RAM, Hard Disk, Magneto-Optical, RAID Array, Removable Storage,
AIT, DAT, & DLT Tape Backup, and USB-Based storage solutions. With products
in use around the globe, Fantom Drives is committed to solving the data
storage needs of the computer age by establishing a new standard in
customer service and support.
