[NPL] DigiChat v1.5

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Release of DigiChat v1.5 Offers Unprecedented Stability and Feature
Set in Java chat software

DigiChat v1.5 adds unparalleled performance, password protected
rooms, multiple administrative security levels, live URLs, push
technology and enhanced administrative controls in one easy to use
package.

GAINESVILLE, Florida - February 10, 1998-- Digi-Net Technologies
today released DigiChat v1.5, a major upgrade to the company's
acclaimed interactive Java chat software. DigiChat v1.5 introduces
new features that enable Webmasters and Internet Providers to provide
best-of-class, interactive, real-time chat solutions to their
clients' sites at prices thousands below competing products.

"Adding interactive real-time chat services to an organization's web
presence significantly enhances the chances of a web site's success,"
said Robert Parker, President of Digi-Net Technologies. "DigiChat
v1.5, blows away the high cost and administrative headaches
associated with current chat technology. With DigiChat, webmasters
everywhere can implement world class chat services."

Leading DigiChat v1.5 Features include:

o Significantly enhanced performance on all systems, with up to a ten
fold performance improvement under heavy loads. A single DigiChat
Server can literally handle thousands of simultaneous users with the
appropriate server hardware.

o Stability on both the DigiChat Server and DigiChat Applet have been
significantly improved, making DigiChat the most reliable Java chat
solution on the market today. DigiChat works consistently and
reliably across all platforms and browsers.

o The DigiChat installation process has been streamlined and updated.
The graphical installer now automatically generates startup scripts
for Unix-type platforms and automatically installs DigiChat as a
service on Windows NT. The installation packages are also now
available with and without the appropriate Java Virtual Machine,
reducing download time.

o DigiChat fully supports virtual chat hosting - run hundreds of chat
sites independently on a single DigiChat Enterprise Edition version.
This boon to Internet Providers allows them to amortize the cost of
the server hardware and software over many clients, opening up
tremendous resale and revenue opportunities from chat hosting
activities.

o Support for the kicking and banning of troublesome chat users.
ChatWatch Text Filtering Technology screens offensive language from
your chat site automatically. The new ChatMonitor feature allows for
multiple levels of site administration with unique usernames,
passwords, and set of administrative privileges.

o DigiChat v1.5 also adds Password Protected Rooms, DigiPost "Push
Technology," room transcripts in HTML format, live URL detection in
the chat window, enhanced chat broadcasting, enhancements to the
Server Console, and the ability to define a maximum number of users
per room (after which a copy of the room is spawned).

System Requirements
DigiChat Server supports all platforms, with a readily available Java
Virtual Machine including: MacOS, WindowsNT/9x, UNIX/BSD, Linux,
Solaris, and more. DigiChat is compatible with all web servers, and
runs over standard Internet protocols.

Pricing and Availability
DigiChat Server is available immediately from the DigiChat Online
Store at an introductory price of $395 for the Small Business Edition
(normally $495) and $795 for the Enterprise Edition (normally $995).
DigiChat v1.5 is a free upgrade for registered DigiChat Users.
DigiChat Hosting accounts are also available from Digi-Net
Technologies for those site owners without the server capabilities to
run DigiChat on their own.
