[MD1] On A Dime: New real-time interactive multimedia software

NEW ONADIME SOFTWARE TO BE DISPLAYED BY APPLE AT SEYBOLD 99!

Conference to Take Place from August 30 - September 3 at Moscone Center,
San Francisco

Onadime Revolution in Live Computer Art and Technology presents Realtime
Software That Creates Original Graphic Art Generated by Music

SEATTLE, WASH. -- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- AUGUST 29, 1999 -- Seattle-based
software company Onadime (as in, "on a dime") announced a preview of its
new Onadime Compositions and Onadime Player for the Macintosh -- an
exciting new software which will be displayed by Apple at the Seybold
Digital Publishing Conference in Moscone Center in San Francisco, from Aug
30-Sept 3, 1999.

Onadime products are real-time interactive multimedia software. Onadime
Composition programs and its new Player are ready for the new Mac G4
AltiVec fast graphics chip when it is released. More information can be
found at the Onadime web site, http://www.onadime.com.

The Onadime Player is unique software that allows users to create brilliant
color prints from graphics drawn by music. Beethoven, Bach, or Beck -- in
Onadime, each music generates images unique to that music. Onadime makes
images by listening and responding to music on your CDs, or to sounds from
your Mac microphone. Onadime images can be appreciated live, but over 30
striking Onadime images a minute can be output to disk, then selected to
create gorgeous original prints. This is Onadime Music Visualization.

Music Visualizaiton works like this: You pop your favorite music CD into
the CD-ROM drive. Next, from the Onadime Player's menu of selections,
select a program called an Onadime "Composition." The Composition will then
begin to "dance," interacting directly with your music. Onadime
Compositions are not "canned" animations. Each Onadime Composition is
"live," creating graphics based on what the music does next. But now --if
you move the mouse-- you'll find that many Onadime Compositions not only
respond to the music, but also to the touch of your mouse, trackpad,
keyboard or trackball.

Take a screen shot at any time, and you have an original new painting
you've created with your music and Onadime. Through Onadime, your computer
will enhance your creativity and excite cognitive ability by engaging the
senses in a new world of rich visual, kinesthetic and musical events. By
responding intimately, intuitively and immediately to your actions and
music, the Onadime Player gives you a place in making a new, fully
interactive computer art form come to life. This preview by Apple at the
Seybold conference will allow thousands of users a sneak peek at the
technology before its actual release date.

The Onadime Player requires a Macintosh computer with a speed of 132 MHz.
Apple QuickTime 3.0 or 4.0 are recommended. The Onadime Player software
comes bundled with twenty (20) Onadime Compositions ready for immediate use
with the Player.

Additional Onadime Composition Packs will be available for purchase via the
Onadime web site. They include targeted compositions for (1) Music
Visualization, (2) Live Interactivity and (3) a special children's
Composition Pack. From sci-fi flashes of light to gentle flights of fancy,
to the groovy "Dancing Man" (a whimsical dancing stick figure) or a visual
representation of the Pythagorean Theorem; there are Onadime Compositions
for every age, taste and personality.

For more information, call publicist Lorraine Foote at (206) 523.0192 or
contact Onadime founder Bruce Mitchell directly at (206) 283-3492, or via
e-mail at press@onadime.com. Spectacular visuals and more detailed
descriptions and demonstrations of Onadime Compositions and the Onadime
Player are available at the Onadime web site at www.onadime.com.
