Canon releases new Laser Class, imageRUNNER models
The flagship Laser Class 830i/810 devices offer speeds of up to 45 images-per-minute (ipm) for scanning and 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized print and copying, as well as network printing, automatic duplex scanning and printing, and color sending capabilities. Each Laser Class model offers Super G3 high-speed facsimile capabilities, a 50-sheet auto duplexing feeder and three second-per-page transmission rate. Faxs can also be sent directly from a user's personal computer (optional on the Laser Class 810 model).
The Laser Class 830i scans documents at up to 45 ipm, while the Laser Class 810 scans at up to 37 ipm (100/200 dpi, letter). In addition, the Laser Class 830i model comes standard with a Color Send feature. Single and double-sided documents can be scanned in at up to 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution for sending TIFF, JPEG, PDF or PDF Compact formats to e-mail, I-fax, FTP and SMB destinations.
The Laser Class 800 Series come standard with a 500-sheet user-adjustable paper cassette that supports up to legal-sized paper and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray for handling various media types. Users can add a 500-sheet paper cassette to boost total capacity up to 1,100 sheets.
The LASER CLASS 830i and 810 will be available through Canon authorized dealers and Canon Business Solutions at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of US$2,995 and $2,695, respectively.
Canon has also unveiled the color-enabled imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 and monochrome imageRUNNER 5050 models. They deliver black-and-white letter-sized performance at speeds of up to 68 and 58 ppm, respectively, and color letter-sized output when needed at up to 16 ppm.
The imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 come standard with color scanning, copying and sending features and optional color network printing capabilities. They have a dual processor design, 1.5GB of RAM and 80GB hard disk drive. The color-enabled imageRUNNER devices scan letter-sized documents at up to 70 ipm at 300 dpi.
The imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 and the imageRUNNER 5050 models will be available for $22,000, $17,600 and $15,500, respectively.
