Aladdin Systems Ships Aladdin Transporter(TM) - Automates File, Internet
And E-Mail Communications - Allows Users to 'Create Personalized
Communications Solutions!'(TM)

Powered by StuffIt(TM) Technology, Aladdin Transporter Saves Time, Reduces
Errors, and Simplifies Communications With Custom Drop Boxes That Automate
Virtually Any File Transfer Task

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- (Macworld EXPO Booth #1707) Aladdin
Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aladdin Systems Holdings, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: ALHI), today shipped Aladdin Transporter(TM) -- a new
Macintosh utility that enables users to easily set up customized and
automated file management, communications and Internet-related tasks. Using
26 customizable actions, or "steps," users can create customized drop boxes
that perform a wide range of automated tasks, such as file compression,
FTP, Web, and e-mail transfers, as well as the ability to display custom
alert dialogs, text messages, sounds, pictures, and even QuickTime movies.

With Aladdin Transporter, activities that require multiple steps in several
applications can be accomplished with a single drag and drop action. A
Transporter drop box can replace simple tasks, such as sending files via
email, or more complex ones, such as Stuffing files, uploading them to a
password protected FTP site, and then sending out a notification via
e-mail. The power of Transporter is that it allows users to create
personalized solutions that are tailored for their specific needs.

Not only does Transporter allow users to create drop box applications to
automate personalized tasks, but they can also send their customized drop
boxes to friends, family, co-workers, and customers. For those working in
environments that require interaction and the exchange of data and files
with a large number of inexperienced users, a Transporter drop box can
provide a way to guarantee error-free transfers every time.

"If your business relies on the ability to communicate effectively with
your customers, then Aladdin Transporter should be the core of your
communication strategy," said Matthew Covington, Product Manager for
Aladdin Transporter. "Building your clients customized Transporter drop
boxes makes it easy for them to communicate, exchange files, and do
business with you. Anyone who can drag a file onto an icon can use a
Transporter drop box."

Aladdin Transporter can also help users set up document distribution
procedures that provide security, legal protection, and other personalized
features. With Aladdin Transporter users can password-protect drop boxes,
require recipients to agree to a license agreement before accessing a
download site, and enable a recipient to download a file from a password
protected FTP site without having to reveal passwords to them.

Who will benefit from using Aladdin Transporter?

-- IT managers: Transporter gives IT managers the power to create custom
drop box solutions that automate virtually any file transfer or
communications task. Transporter can be deployed to distribute files among
specific groups within the enterprise, or communicate with outside vendors.
By leveraging the distribution features of Transporter drop boxes, IT staff
can reduce user errors and eliminate support time.

-- Service Bureaus: A Transporter drop box allows customers to compress and
upload files to an FTP server with a single drag and drop action. You can
use Transporter's text dialogs to communicate guidelines, policies, or even
require acknowledgment to terms of agreement prior to uploading files.
Password features allow businesses to have customers upload files to a
password-protected directory without revealing the password.

-- Educators: Aladdin Transporter makes it easy to distribute and receive
assignments; a single drop box allows teachers to distribute projects to
every class member, and a drop box for each student will allow them to
return a class project. A Transporter drop box can automatically be
configured to download the latest available file, removing the possibility
that the student might download the wrong version by mistake.

-- Web Masters: Aladdin Transporter includes a powerful set of FTP-related
features that allow Web masters to create custom drop box applications with
embedded FTP technology that automates the task of uploading files. Once a
drop box has been configured, a single drag and drop action can encode and
compress a group of files, log into a password protected FTP site, and
upload files to a specified directory. Web masters can even have the drop
box launch the page URL when the file transfer has been completed.

-- Tech Support Departments: Requiring users to submit tech support
questions via a Transporter drop box can help to reduce the number of back
and forth correspondence by requiring customers to fill out questions in an
e-mail form, before sending a message. A Transporter e-mail form can
comprise of any combination of text entry fields, pop-up menus, or check
boxes. Users control how data is presented in the e-mail making integration
of e-mail messages with an existing contact database easy.
