DEVONthink 2.8.8 improves Tinderbox integration & more
DEVONtechnologies (www.devontechnologies.com) has updated all editions of its intelligent information and document manager DEVONthink as well as the smart notebook DEVONnote. Maintain serves up Cocktail 9.2 (El Capitan Edition)
Maintain has served up Cocktail 9.2 (El Capitan Edition), the latest maintenance update for users running OS X El Capitan 10.11. Cocktail is a general purpose utility for OS X that lets users clean, repair and optimize their Macs. This version adds ability to clear CoreDuet database and ability to view, rotate and delete archived Authorization, CoreDuet, Security and XPC Activity log files. myCharge has introduced a new anodized aluminum line of HUB portables chargers for powering smartphones and tables on-the-go. Seagate, Newisys demo flash storage architecture capable of 1TB/s
Seagate Technology (www.seagate.com) and Newisys (www.newisys.com) have announced that 21 Newisys NSS-2601 with dual NSS-HWxEA Storage Server Modules deployed with Seagate’s newest SAS 1200.2 SSD drives can be combined in a single 42U rack to achieve block I/O performance of 1TB/s with 5PB of storage. Each Newisys 2U server with 60 Seagate SSDs is capable of achieving bandwidth of 49GB/s. Newisys is a division of Sanmina Corp. and a provider of data center products for enterprise and cloud applications. Orb is a new drag and drop radial contextual menu for OS X
ZoomingCube Interactive (http://zoomingcube.com) has introduced Orb 1.0 for Mac OS X. It’s a $5 drag and drop, radial contextual menu that allows you to open files with various applications without having to drag them all the way to your Dock. Orb features a special Preview that displays an enlarged preview of image at the center of the menu. A Direction Sensing feature allows default application to be placed in the direction of gesture. Archiware releases one-click archiving tool
Archiware, manufacturer of the data management software suite Archiware P5, is launching its P5 Archive app and version 5.3 of the Archiware P5 Software Suite, including Snapshot support and LTO-7 capability. The P5 Archive app is designed to simplify the Archiving process by allowing users to archive and restore files directly from Finder via the right-click context menu, without the need to open P5 Archive itself. Final Cut Pro X projects are archived and restored including all media used in the project. Archived files and folders are represented by a link file which displays metadata and previews on double-click. Metadata can be added during archiving. Apple Pay now available to merchants on the GlobalOnePay platform
GlobalOnePay, a provider of omni-channel payment processing technologies and merchant services, now supports Apple Pay. GlobalOnePay merchants will now have another payment method in Canada to offer buyers. The GlobalOnePay payments processing platform is already accepting Apple Pay in the United States and United Kingdom, where the mobile payment service was already operating. Maintain serves up Cocktail 9.0.1 (El Capitan Edition)
Maintain has announced Cocktail 9.1.1 (El Capitan Edition), the latest maintenance update for users running OS X El Capitan 10.11. Cocktail is a general purpose utility for OS X that lets users clean, repair and optimize their Macs. This version adds the ability to delete locked or inaccessible items using SRM secure delete. It also includes improvements on the "Purge inactive memory" procedure and a number of bug fixes. Cocktail 9.1.1 (El Capitan Edition) requires OS X El Capitan 10.11 to run. Cocktail (Yosemite Edition) for OS X 10.10, Cocktail (Mavericks Edition) for OS X 10.9, Cocktail (Mountain Lion Edition) for OS X 10.8 and Cocktail (Lion Edition) for OS X 10.7 are available for download from Maintain website. Intuit has released Quicken 2016 for Mac and Windows users. The Mac version includes integrated bill pay that lets users pay their bills, transfer money between accounts, see what bills have been paid, and which are coming or are past due so they can manage cash flow. CalDigit releases new USB-C docks, accessories
CalDigit (www.caldigit.com) revealed two new USB Type-C docks at Inter BEE 2015 in Japan. The first is the CalDigit USB-C Dock, and the second is the CalDigit USB-C mini Dock. Both of these products feature USB 3.1 as well as a host of additional ports to expand USB-C enabled computers such as the 12-inch MacBook. CalDigit is also announcing two new USB-C adapters. The US$149 CalDigit USB-C Dock (pictured) not only adds extra ports but also simultaneously charges the MacBook. The $99 CalDigit USB-C mini Dock takes the features of the CalDigit USB-C Dock and packs them into a smaller form-factor. The main difference between the CalDigit USB-C Dock and CalDigit USB-C mini Dock is that the USB-C Dock connects to AC mains power, whereas the CalDigit mini Dock draws its power from the computer. Synology (www.synology.com) has released the DS716+, an encryption-oriented, scalable, two-bay NAS server powered by a quad-core CPU and Btrfs file system.
