Noodlesoft releases Hazel 4.1 for the Mac
Noodlesoft has rolled out Hazel 4.1 a feature update to their housekeeping utility for macOS. The upgrade features smart date matching, as well as boasts a new user guide to help users to take advantage of Hazel's features. Previewing rules is now enhanced with detachable popovers and highlighting of text matches. Other features include default values for empty attributes, a new "capture date" attribute, the ability to match a file based on others in the same folder, and more. Hazel 4.1 costs $32 and can be purchased from Noodlesoft (www.noodlesoft.com). Version 4.1 is a free update for registered 4.0 users. Users with licenses for version 3 or earlier can upgrade for $10. macOS Sierra revved to version 10.12.5
Apple has released macOS Sierra10.12.5, a minor update that focuses on bug fixes and speed improvements. According to Apple, the upgrade: ° Fixes an issue where audio may stutter when played through USB headphones; ° Enhances compatibility of the Mac App Store with future software updates; ° Adds support for media-free installation of Windows 10 Creator Update using Boot Camp. macOS Sierra 10.12.5 is a free update for all customers who have a compatible machine. The update can be downloaded using the Software Update function in the Mac App Store.

Apple announces tvOS 10.2.1
Apple has upgraded tvOS, the operating system for the Apple TV, to version 10.2.1. It offers bug fixes and performance tweaks. To install, launch the System menu and choose Software Update. The operating system was recently revved to version 10.2, which provided an accelerated scrolling feature to the Siri remote so you can scroll through lists of content faster. The update also added the TV app, which is designed to offer a unified experience for discovering and accessing TV shows and movies from multiple apps on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.  It provides one place to access TV shows and movies, as well as a place to discover new content to watch.

Apple rolls out watchOS 3.2.2
Apple has revved watchOS to 3.2.2. The upgrade focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements to the Apple Watch's operating system. The previous release (watchOS 3.2) added Theater Mode and SiriKit. The former lets Apple Watch owners disable the "rise to wake" function on the watch, but still notify them with haptic feedback of notifications without illuminating the watch display.  SiriKit enables apps to work with Siri, Apple’s “personal digital assistant,” so users can get things done with content and services using just their voice. In addition to extending Siri’s support for messaging, photo search and phone calls to more apps, SiriKit also adds support for new services, including ride booking and personal payments. watchOS 3.2.2 must be performed through the Apple Watch app on a connected iPhone, and the watch must be on the charger, and have over 50% battery remaining.

Apple has released iOS 10.3.2, which offers bug fixes, security enhancements, and other improvements. iOS 10.3.2 is a free over-the-air update available to all users with a compatible iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. It can also be downloaded and installed on iOS devices using iTunes on a Mac or PC.

Neonway ( http://neonway.org) has released Tray Player Lite 1.7, an update of the free music player for macOS. It allows users to play audio files on their Mac. Shaderific adds a side by side display mode
Gryphos has announced Shaderific 4.2 (http://www.shaderific.com), an update of its OpenGL ES shader development application for iOS. Shaderific helps computer science students and experienced developers to get started with OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenGL ES 3.0 shader development. The app makes it possible to write, compile and test shader programs directly on any iOS device without ever touching a laptop or desktop computer. Apple awards Corning first advanced manufacturing fund investment
Apple has announced that Corning Incorporated will receive $200 million from the company’s new Advanced Manufacturing Fund as part of the tech giant’s commitment to foster innovation among American manufacturers. The investment will support Corning’s R&D, capital equipment needs and state-of-the-art glass processing. Red Giant releases Universe 2.1 featuring new text effects
Red Giant has unveiled Universe 2.1, an update to its collection of GPU-accelerated plugins for editors and motion graphics artists. The upgrade offers six new tools and updates to two existing plugins. Strata has rolled out an update to their flagship software, Design 3D CX. Apple will offer iTunes on the Windows Store
Microsoft announced today at its Build developer event that Apple will bring its iTunes app to the Windows 10 Store, iTunes, is already available for Windows users, but adding it to the Windows Store will make it easier for Windows users to find the software. Also, Microsoft announced today that, with the new Xamarin Live Player, iOS developers can deploy, run, test and debug iOS apps directly from a Windows PC that runs Visual Studio. Xamarin already allowed you to develop your iOS applications in C# with the help of tools like Xamarin.iOS for Visual Studio. However, now it's not necessary to have a Mac to build and test your apps.

Microsoft launches Visual Studio 2017 for Mac
Microsoft has released Visual Studio 2017 for Mac (www.visualstudio.com). It’s a new member of the Visual Studio family, enabling developers on macOS (10.11 and higher) to build apps for mobile, web, and cloud with Xamarin and .NET Core, as well as games with Unity. Developers can use Visual Studio 2017 for Mac to develop apps for Android, macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS, web, and cloud. It allows users to code, debug, and diagnose. Apple updates Workflow to version 1.7.4
Workflow has been updated to version 1.7.4, re-introducing features that were removed when Apple acquired the software, as well as adding new Apple Music actions. For example, it restores the Google Chrome and Pocket actions. You can add music to your Up Next queue with the Add Music to Up Next and Clear Up Next actions. Get Distance now supports getting the distance from a specified location. The order of items passed from a Dictionary action to Choose from List is now preserved. Apple reports second quarter fiscal results
Apple has announced financial results for its fiscal 2017 second quarter that ended April 1, 2017. The company posted quarterly revenue of $52.9 billion and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $2.10. These results compare to revenue of $50.6 billion and earnings per diluted share of $1.90 in the year-ago quarter. EAS-SEC, a non-profit organization focused on enterprise application security, with the support of ERPScan, a provider of business application security products and services, has released the SAP Cybersecurity Framework (http://tinyurl.com/kj8j5m2), which is designed to combine predictive, preventive, detective and response measures. The Framework consists of 20 categories, each describes specific protection processes (e.g. asset management, incident management, or threat intelligence).
