Maintain serves up Cocktail 10.2.2 (Sierra Edition)
Maintain has served up Cocktail 10.2.2 (Sierra Edition), a new edition of Cocktail for users running macOS Sierra. It’s a general purpose utility for macOS that lets users clean, repair and optimize their Macs. The new version adds the ability to clear WebKit caches and support for additional (en5-en8) network interfaces. AKVIS (www.akvis.com) has updated AKVIS Pastel to version 3.0. The software turns digital images into lifelike pastel paintings. Version 3.0 enhances its functionality with the new Abstract Art tab, additional built-in presets, and other changes including full compatibility with CC 2017. PFSOFT release multi-asset trading terminal for macOS
PFSOFT, a developer of multi-asset brokerage and trading solutions, has released a native trading terminal for macOS. The new front end platform will be included in Protrader solutions package as corresponding to Windows desktop terminal. According to the folks at PFSoOft, Protrader for Mac contains all the functionality needed for trading many asset classes including FX, CFDs, Futures, Equities, Spread Betting, ETFs and Bonds. Rogue Amoeba has unveiled SoundSource (https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/), a new macOS tool that provides access to critical audio settings. With it, users can instantly change the audio devices used for input, output, and sound effects, adjust the volume levels of those devices, and more. Zevrix Solutions has announced LinkOptimizer 5.0.15, a maintenance update to company's workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. The tool allows uers to reduce the size of InDesign links and speeds up processing by eliminating excess image data. Link Optimizer also performs image adjustments, converts formats and helps repurpose files for web and mobile devices. Version 5.0.15 addresses an issue in which user defined image quality settings weren't applied when converting InDesign links to JPEG. Apple releases new public beta of iOS 10.3
Apple has released a second public beta of iOS 10.3. If you're not already signed up for the public beta program, you can do so at https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ . iOS 10.3 updates the file structure on an iOS device to the Apple File System (APFS). AFPS is optimized for Flash/SSD storage and features “strong encryption, copy-on-write metadata, space sharing, cloning for files and directories, snapshots, fast directory sizing, atomic safe-save primitives, and improved file system fundamentals.” The beta also includes a new "Find My AirPods" ability, additions to Siri, CarPlay improvements, and some changes to Maps. What’s more, Apple says that by the time iOS 10.3 is available to customers, developers will be able to respond to customer reviews on the Apple App Store.

Apple has released AirPods firmware 3.5.1
Apple has released AirPods firmware 3.5.1. AppleInsider.com says it’s probably already been downloaded to a synchronized device. Installation is automatic when the AirPods are in their charging case, the case is plugged into a charger, and the linked iPhone is in close proximity and connected to Wi-Fi. You can check the installed firmware revision in the "General" settings menu, by selecting "About," then “AirPods.” AppleInsider says the update contains "miscellaneous minor bug fixes."

Apple has announced the financial results for its fiscal 2017 first quarter that ended Dec. 31, 2016. The company posted all-time record quarterly revenue of $78.4 billion and all-time record quarterly earnings per diluted share of $3.36. These results compare to revenue of $75.9 billion and earnings per diluted share of $3.28 in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 64 percent of the quarter’s revenue. “We’re thrilled to report that our holiday quarter results generated Apple’s highest quarterly revenue ever, and broke multiple records along the way. Twelve South releases the MagicBridge for Mac owners
Twelve South (www.twelvesouth.com) has released the $34.99 MagicBridge. Much like its predecessor, the MagicWand, the MagicBridge connects your Apple Wireless Keyboard and your Magic Trackpad 2, creating a one-piece control surface. It allows you to place your trackpad on either the left or right side of your wireless keyboard, while sculpted edges hold your devices in place without interfering with touch typing or swiping. The detailed design doesn't stop there. A grill on the back provides complete access to charging ports and power — in either the left or right configuration. SCOSCHE introduces USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter
SCOSCHE Industries has released the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, which features three ports and is targeted for Type-C devices such as the 2016 MacBooks and MacBook Pros. One port is an HDMI connection that allows users to mirror the laptop display to an HDMI-enabled TV or display up to 4K HD. Additionally, it outputs video content such as movies and captured video. You connect the adapter to the Type-C port of the MacBook or other USB-C device and then to a TV or projector via an HDMI cable. The USB-C Hub also has a Type-A port, allowing users to connect older peripherals and computer accessories, such as flash drives and cameras, to the new Type-C Mac laptops. The Type-A port on the adapter also lets users charge and sync their iPhone, iPad or iPod. Apple seeds watchOS 3.2 developer beta
Apple has released a developer beta of watchOS 3.2. It can be be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center. The watchOS 3.2 beta adds Theater Mode and SiriKit. The former lets Apple Watch owners disable the "rise to wake" function on the watch, but still notify them with haptic feedback of notifications without illuminating the watch. SiriKit enables apps to work with Siri, Apple’s “personal digital assistant,”so users can get things done with content and services using just their voice. In addition to extending Siri’s support for messaging, photo search and phone calls to more apps, SiriKit also adds support for new services, including ride booking and personal payments.

Station 1.3 adds support for macOS transparency
True North Software has revved Station, their multilevel (hierarchical) launcher for macOS, to version 1.3. The app promotes a “more natural” organization of applications and documents into folders. With nested folders, you can arrange items in Station in a way that fits your workflow with an uncluttered look and feel. Scalability is increased through groupings that increase the sheer number of items that can be added to the app without having to shrink the launcher size. Version 1.3 adds support for macOS transparency and Station specific transparency.
