Amazon has expanded its latest sale on Apple’s 16-inch M5 Max MacBook Pro, dropping the Space Black configuration with 36GB RAM and a 2TB SSD to just $3499.
Apple sells this configuration for $4399, so Amazon’s current price represents a substantial $900 savings, or more than 20% off MSRP.

This is one of the largest discounts we’ve seen on Apple’s current 16-inch MacBook Pro lineup.
What’s particularly interesting about this sale is that Amazon has expanded its earlier $900 discount to include the popular Space Black finish.
The $3499 price first appeared on the Silver model in late September. Amazon subsequently lowered the Space Black configuration to the same price on October 19, giving buyers a choice of colors at the discounted price.
For comparison, when we reported on the same 36GB/2TB M5 Max MacBook Pro in September, Amazon was selling it for $3799, saving $600 off Apple’s regular price.
The latest $3499 offer takes another $300 off that earlier sale price, increasing the total savings to $900.
The discounted MacBook Pro includes:
- Processor: Apple M5 Max with 18-core CPU and 32-core GPU
- Memory: 36GB unified RAM
- Storage: 2TB SSD
- Display: 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR with ProMotion
- Color: Space Black
- Connectivity: Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, SDXC, MagSafe 3, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6
The M5 Max is Apple’s highest-performance MacBook Pro processor, designed for demanding professional applications including video production, 3D rendering, photography, software development, and local AI processing.
With its 18-core CPU and 32-core GPU, the M5 Max provides considerably more graphics processing power than the standard M5 and M5 Pro chips.
The 36GB of unified memory and 2TB SSD also make this configuration particularly attractive for buyers working with large video projects, photo libraries, graphics files, and other demanding applications.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro features Apple’s Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion, a six-speaker audio system, 12MP Center Stage camera, and battery life rated for up to 22 hours of video streaming.
At $3499, Amazon is now selling the M5 Max model for just $500 more than Apple’s $2999 MSRP for the standard 16-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro with 24GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.
For that additional $500, buyers get the M5 Max processor, substantially more GPU performance, an additional 12GB of unified memory, and twice the internal storage.
That makes the discounted M5 Max particularly interesting for buyers who were already considering an upgraded M5 Pro configuration.
The expanded $900 discount was first reported on October 19 and remains available as of October 23.
We followed the affiliate link on our price tracker and verified Amazon’s listing directly today. The retailer confirms that the Space Black 36GB/2TB M5 Max MacBook Pro is priced at $3499, down from $4399.
The model is listed as new and in stock, with Amazon.com handling both the sale and shipping.
One important consideration is delivery time. Amazon currently estimates delivery between November 15 and December 1, so buyers needing a new MacBook Pro immediately may want to consider other available configurations.
Amazon also displayed a separate $50 Amazon Visa discount during our price check. That offer is not included in the advertised $3499 price and may require eligibility for the promotion.
At $900 off Apple’s MSRP, this remains one of the strongest current discounts on the 16-inch M5 Max MacBook Pro, especially now that the sale includes Space Black.
