Valentina Server and Developer Database Version 3.4 Released

New Status and Logging Features Enhance Server Maintenance

September 24, 2007. Beaverton, Oregon-based Paradigma Software, Inc
announces the release of version 3.4 of its ultra fast database technology
Valentina. This update is available across the product line, including
Valentina Office Server, Valentina Developer Network and the free, Linux
based Valentina Community Server.

Valentina technology release 3.4 incorporates new tracking and monitoring
features for Valentina databases - locally and remotely on a network:

Show Status. It is now possible to show the current status of Valentina
objects, servers, databases, tables and links, allowing highly granular
monitoring, such as numbers of records added in a set amount of time, how
many temp tables are created or how many SQL queries are in the query pool.

Support for SQL binding for SELECT statements. This enable using a query
pool. Initial testing indicates that SQL SELECT statements written to take
advantage of this feature can improve speed by up to 20 times as fast.
Support this feature is already included with INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE
statements.

Stored Procedures Enhancements. You can now return the last cursor created
as a result of a created procedure. Improved exception handing, ability to
get last error and warning messages.

XML and SQL database exports have had improvements with picture and BLOB
objects as well as RecID/ObjectPtr/BinaryLinks values.

Valentina Studio Admin Edition gains additional features and improvements:

Database Diagrams. Valentina Diagrams now support all three kinds of links
supported by the Valentina Database System.

SQL Script Favorites. Now you can store and execute SQL scripts from a library.

The top 40 user requested improvements to Valentina Studio Admin Edition
were also fixed or improved.

Valentina developer and business products support Windows, Mac OS X and
Linux (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, Fedora Core and Ubuntu). Developers
solutions for integrating Valentina begin at $199 with support for every
major development system on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux: Apple xCode (Cocoa
and C++), Visual Basic, C/C++, Ruby (and Ruby on Rails), PHP, Adobe
Director, REAL Software REALbasic, Runtime Revolution, .net and any tool
that supports COM.

Valentina Developer Network Platform Edition lets developers deploy
unlimited, royalty free copies of Valentina Embedded Server on Mac OS X,
Windows and Linux. VDN Platform Edition costs $599, with discounts for
