AMTEC ANNOUNCES TECPLOT VERSION 9.2 FOR MAC OS X
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Amtec Engineering, Inc., a developer of data
visualization software, today announced the release of Tecplot 9.2
for Mac OS X. This represents the first time that Tecplot, which was
first released in 1988, has supported Macintosh computers. Engineers
and scientists on Mac OS X now benefit from the industry's leading
technical plotting software with integrated XY, 2- and 3-D
capabilities.
"We see a growing demand from our customers to run Tecplot on Mac OS
X," said Amtec President Mike Peery. "Supporting Mac OS X exemplifies
our commitment to providing multi-platform support so engineers and
scientists can communicate and collaborate."
"Mac OS X provides the power, stability and reliability that
scientists and engineers depend upon for collecting and analyzing
data," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide
Developer Relations. "Having Tecplot 9.2 available for Mac OS X will
certainly benefit our customers engaged in the field of science and
technology."
Commercial shipment of Tecplot 9.2 begins October 1, 2002. The
release of Amtec's industry-specific add-on modules for Mac OS X is
expected later in the month.
Tecplot 9.2 is Amtec's versatile plotting and data analysis software.
Its general technical plotting and high-end 3-D visualization
abilities create superb on-screen graphics and presentation-quality
output.
Tecplot is the ideal tool for engineers and scientists working with
large data sets created by numerical simulation software, data from
analysis and testing, and those seeking a one-stop-shop for data
visualization. Tecplot 9.2 is available for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP,
Mac OS X, Linux, and most UNIX workstations with prices starting at
$1,495 in the U.S.A.
