BERKELEY, CA - January 7, 2003 - A.E. Wood & Erickson today announced the
immediate availability of SyncDeK 4.5, enabling flexible, secure
synchronization of multiple distributed FileMaker databases. This new
version takes advantage of technology improvements and provides tools for
simpler integration into any FileMaker solution. Integrating SyncDeK no
longer requires installation by A.E. Wood & Erickson. New pricing reduces
SyncDeK licensing costs by 50% from previous versions.

SyncDeK 4.5 solves data sharing problems that many FileMaker developers
face. Without replication, traditional client-server databases are
challenged to fully support mobile and remote users, server-to-server
synchronization, or "live" database backups. SyncDeK 4.5 replication allows
any number of FileMaker databases to share data bi-directionally, even
without direct connectivity. This enables remote and mobile database users
to synchronize with each other and/or with an office server. Organizations
with multiple offices can deploy multiple synchronized FileMaker Servers
for highest-performance data access at all sites. Database administrators
can maintain "warm backups" to recover from outages with minimal data loss.
SyncDeK 4.5 shares encrypted change notices between "nodes", enabling data
replication between FileMaker databases. SyncDeK not only synchronizes
data, it also synchronizes database design changes. New fields, scripts and
layouts can be distributed to any number of database nodes in seconds,
greatly reducing the cost of deployment and version control.
With SyncDeK 4.5, the cost of using replication technology has been
dramatically reduced. New integration tools ease installation of SyncDeK in
