StuffIt Standard Edition 7.0

ALADDIN SYSTEMS SHIPS STUFFIT STANDARD EDITION 7.0- NEW AND IMPROVED
INTERFACE PROVIDES BEST-EVER COMPRESSION AND SECURITY

New Version Incorporates StuffIt X, The Next-Generation File Compression

Watsonville, CA - Aladdin Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of
Aladdin Systems Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: ALHI), today released StuffIt
Standard Edition(tm)7.0 (previously called StuffIt Lite), the newest
Macintosh version of Aladdin's popular access and compression utility.
StuffIt Standard Edition updates version 6.5.1 of StuffIt Lite and adds
additional functionality.

StuffIt 7.0 introduces StuffIt X(tm) (pronounced "ex"), the new file format
integrates compression with security and safety options to meet the
requirements of business and today's digital lifestyle. The StuffIt X file
format provides strong encryption (512 bit), improved compression (up to
30% over previous versions), error correction, larger archive size, and
support for long file names. StuffIt Standard Edition, also part of the new
StuffIt Deluxe 7.0, helps Macintosh users with their basic compression
needs (including the new StuffIt X, StuffIt, Zip, and Tar archiving) and
StuffIt Expander(tm) 7.0, Aladdin's decompression product for accessing
attachments, downloads, and compressed or encoded files.

"StuffIt Standard Edition helps users improve their Internet experience by
making it easy to send and access information," said Matthew Covington,
StuffIt product manager. "StuffIt is an easy way to compress your files so
they transmit quickly and open easily on any computer."

Users needing basic compression and access to all popular file formats will
like the faster transmission speeds provided by the new StuffIt X format
(identified by ".sitx" extension). Users wanting a more complete
compression solution with more capabilities, should consider using the new
StuffIt Deluxe 7.0 package, it provides: unique Microsoft Word integration,
Magic Menu(tm), one-click Stuff & Mail, full support for browsing and
editing Zip archives, and much more. Information on StuffIt Deluxe is at:

New in StuffIt Standard Edition 7.0:
* Long File name support -Use up to 256 characters, the OS limit, for
easier identification.
* Share and access files compressed by any program on any platform.
(Users will need StuffIt Expander 7.0 to access the new .sitx
archives, Windows users can get the free StuffIt Expander 8.0 beta,
available at: http://www.stuffit.com/expander/special.html)
* New user interface for beginners -Drag and Drop window makes it
easier to compress and access files.

The New StuffIt X Format (in StuffIt Deluxe and StuffIt Standard
Edition) includes:
* Strong encryption to protect sensitive data- Get better security
and privacy protection with 512 bit encryption (previously 40 bit),
to make sending files over the Internet and storing sensitive data
more secure.
* Prevention of data loss with error correction Protect against
corruption, by checking the "Add Redundancy" box. StuffIt can add
error correction information to archives to repair and reconstruct
files that become damaged by bad media or transfer errors. (This will
result in a slightly larger compressed archive size).
* Improved compression - Get up to 30% better compression (depending
on file type) so files move faster over the Internet and maximize
server and network bandwidth.
* Larger archive sizes Previous StuffIt versions had a 2 GB archive
size limit, now archives can be terabytes in size; great for
multimedia project back ups.

Features ONLY available in StuffIt Deluxe:
* Microsoft integration- Provides access to one-click compress and
mail from Microsoft Word (including versions 2001 and X).
* Full file support for Zip archives- Use, search, and browse StuffIt
AND Zip archives as easily as working with folders in the Finder.
Share and access files compressed by any program on any platform.
(StuffIt 7.0 continues to support creation and editing of the
existing StuffIt and Zip formats, in addition to the new StuffIt X
format.)
* Stuff and Mail additions Supports Entourage and Apple Mail email clients.
* Magic Menu browsing- Search through StuffIt and Zip archives with Magic Me=
nu.
* New OS X Finder support- Use keyboard shortcuts to Stuff (Command
S) or Unstuff (Command U) files.
