Stairways Software releases Interarchy 7.2

Subject: PR: Stairways Software releases Interarchy 7.2

Perth, Western Australia - 15 July 2004 - Stairways Software Pty Ltd is
pleased to announce Interarchy 7.2, the latest version of its powerful,
flexible, award-winning Internet application for Mac OS X. Interarchy can
download and upload files via FTP (the Internet standard File Transfer
Protocol), SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol), and FTP over SSH
(FTP/SSH). In addition, it can download files or whole web sites using HTTP
(the HyperText Transfer Protocol), provide a wealth of information about
your Internet connection, and help you work with remote servers across the
Internet.

Interarchy 7.2 adds two important new features. We have added a Bookmark
Bar across the top of listing windows so you can quickly navigate to your
most used locations. The other major new feature is Auto Uploads which
allow you to select a local folder and a remote destination and have
Interarchy remember that pairing, after which you can just drop a file or
folder on to Interarchy and it will automatically upload it to the correct
location.

We also improved support for Safari with the Interarchy contextual menu, so
you can download files from a web page using Interarchy if you want to
speed up the transfer, improved support for proxy FTP by supporting the
system settings, added an option to "apply to all" when requesting whether
to resume or overwrite an upload, and support for a new preference to
"Always open folders in a new window".

Interarchy 7 follows on the long history of improvements to provide a
host of new features. Major new features in Interarchy 7 include:
* Fully Mac OS X native (carbon events and native core networking).
* Tabbed browsing (just like Safari).
* Bookmark Bar (just like Safari).
* Icon view (to complement list view and column view).
* Full bookmark management system, including FTP Disks, Rendezvous
services, bookmarks, Address Book entries, scheduled and startup
items.
* Full internal file mapping support, with Get Info, Edit With, and more.
* Full support for local files (file listings, checking local web sites).
* Full support for dragging between windows (FTP, SFTP, File, HTTP).
* Toolbars everywhere.
* A single combined Transfers window.
* Enhanced scheduling.
* Enhanced Check Web Site including options, local sites and warnings.
* Enhanced mirroring with progress reporting.
* History menu showing recent actions.
* Combined Network Host Info with Ping, DNS, MX, and registrar information.
* Full network traffic watching with detailed packet display.
* Full networking support with trace route, connection list, status, port scan.
* Bandwidth monitoring and graphing.
* Full support for printing.

Interarchy 7 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or greater.

Interarchy 7.2 adds the following changes and refinements:
* A new Bookmark Bar on all listing windows for quick navigation.
* Auto Uploads automatically upload files to their correct location.
* Interarchy contextual menu in Safari.
* Added "apply to all" to overwrite/resume alert.
* Added support for "Always open folders in a new window" like the Finder.
* Support the system proxy FTP settings including username and password.
* Add Bookmark now remembers the last selected bookmark folder.
* Network Interface names are now localized.
* Listing -) Rename can rename Bookmarks (as well as click-rename).
* The Transfers window can now be resized horizontally to show more details.
* Detects and warns you if you try to rename over an existing file.
* A number of bug fixes and minor enhancements.
