SQL4X Manager J 2.5

We have released a public preview of SQL4X Manager J 2.5, the premier
database management tool for professional users, web site creators and
developers for Mac OS X. SQL4X Manager J 2.5 is the upcoming successor of
SQL4X Manager (rated with 4 1/2 mice out of 5 by Macworld Magazine).

Product Description:
SQL4X Manager J is a comprehensive graphical Interface for web and database
developers to access any JDBC compliant database server. You can choose
between a terminal-like graphical SQL Console with SQL syntax coloring and
table name auto-completion to execute your own SQL commands and a fully
graphical schema and table browser to navigate through your tables like
with the Mac OS X Finder.

SQL4X Manager J includes a wide variety of graphical assistants to create
and modify table definitions, manage SQL views, import and export data,
create SQL queries and many other tasks.

Download the SQL4X Manager J 2.5 Preview at
http://www.macosguru.de/products/sql4xmanagerj.html (direct download:
ftp://www.macosguru.de/sql4xj25pp.dmg.gz). Online documentation is
available at http://help.macosguru.de/sql4xj/.

SQL4X Manager J 2.5 is a free upgrade for existing customers. Licenses for
new customers are available for $59.00 in our online store at
http://www.macosguru.de/store/.

SQL4X Manager J has been tested with Oracle 7/8i/9i, Sybase ASE, Microsoft
SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, OpenBase and works with any JDBC enabled
database server.

What's new in this version:

- graphically create and alter table definitions
- graphically create and modify SQL views
- enhanced assistant to easily create and manage database connections
- passwords for database connections are now stored in the Mac OS X Keychain
- many enhancements to the SQL Console to easily transfer query results to
other applications (like MS Excel)
- graphically create simple queries
- store and organize your favorite queries like web browser favorites
- enhanced BLOB editor to display images and rtf stored in BLOB and BINARY
fields
- redesigned graphical interface

Some user comments:

By far the best Mac interface to Oracle 8x/9x databases, and one of the
better GUIs for MySQL/PostgreSQL available on any OS. The simple fact that
it connects to such a wide variety of DB servers using a consistent
interface alone is worth the registration cost, especially when you
consider that there are single-DB alternatives that cost 10x what this
does. [infraRett]

I just downloaded this app, and I'll tell you that it works better than
SQLGrinder, SQLBoss or MacSQL. I use Oracle and wanted to have a good way
to do SQL commands the way they're done in SQL Plus in Oracle, and none of
the other products know how to deal with that, at least this application
lets me work with SQL the way I know how. These guys are pros and know how
to set things up. [SFCodeWarrior]

This is awesome! Once the JDBC driver is installed on your Mac, connecting
to your database is simple and fast! I can't belive it. I won't have to
jump back and forth between my Mac and NT workstation for developing web
applications. [Hector Cabarcas]
