November 15, 2006: Yazsoft today announced the immediate availability
of Speed Download 4.1.5, an important update to the the fourth
generation of Yazsoft's award winning download manager for Mac OS X.

Speed download, squarely aimed at all Mac OS X end users, has been
met with glowing praise from reviewers, web authors, developers, beta
testers and the more than three million users who have left behind
nuisances such the inability to reliably download files from the
internet, the inability to easily resume file transfers when the
internet connection fails, and more. "This new upgrade will mark a
milestone in the history of Speed Download development," said Mark
Forrester at Yazsoft. "Many months of development and user feedback
contributed towards this release, and we're really excited to get it

Version 4.1.5 adds some key new features and improvements and is a
recommended update for all Speed Download 4 users.

Some of the new features include the following:

New: SPARKLE Framework integration. Starting with this version, SD
has the ability of self updating itself. You will actually see this
work starting with the next SD update (4.1.6 and so on).

New: re-arranged contextual menu items for quicker access to more
commonly used items like 'Open with..', etc.

New: if you select an entry in SD, you can now do a CMD-C (or select
'Copy' from the 'Edit' menu-bar) to copy that file's URL.

New: SD will import FTP favorites from other FTP programs so that you
have them all in one centralized, easy to access application. After
the import, you will see your favorites in the 'My Servers' section
where you simply double click on each entry to connect to it.

New: files downloaded from audible.com are now automatically added to iTunes.

New: added compatibility with .TV websites.

Addressed: a preference transparency bug that would cause SD to be
completely invisible.

Addressed: several issues that were causing SD to unexpectedly quit
when connecting to public idisks.

Addressed: several issues that were causing SD to unexpectedly quit
when downloading many files at once.

Misc: some under the hood tweaks.

Updated: German localization.

BONUS
As an added bonus, Speed Download now includes a link to
Transmission; an incredibly well designed Bittorrent application.
Transmission is a free, lightweight BitTorrent client featuring a
simple, intuitive interface on top of an efficient, cross-platform
back-end.
