Roland's SignMate 6.5 Now Available for Mac

Irvine, CA, January 19, 2001 - Roland DGA Corporation today announced the
availability of SignMate 6.5 for the Mac. Completely redesigned, this
powerful, new software is perfect for sign makers, print-for-pay providers
and other graphics professionals.

"SignMate's new Mac version is the ultimate tool for sign makers," said
Thomas O'Reilly, Roland Software Product Specialist. "It greatly increases
speed and productivity by letting users edit their work with the new
DesignCentral interface, which eliminates the need for numerous dialog
boxes. Also, SignMate lets users keep the look and feel of their favorite
program, whether it's Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDraw."

Designed specifically for all Roland cutters, printers and print/cut
machines, SignMate 6.5 is built on true Mac standards for optimal
performance. Features include spot color support, color calibration,
improved image quality, nesting, contour cutting, color separation,
gradient fills, job statistics and FMX dithering for faster performance.

Why Upgrade to SignMate 6.5 Mac?

SignMate treats Mac users to several new edit features. In addition to
Design Central, which gives users a centralized location for all object
properties and options, the Mac version offers QuickEdit, QuickShapes and
QuickHandles. Use QuickEdit to instantly change an object's
characteristics, even when other effects have already been applied. Use
QuickShapes to easily add rectangles, ovals, polygons, stars and arrows to
any design. Use QuickHandles to kern individual characters or every
character in a line, and to adjust tracking and line spacing.

Mac users will also enjoy SignMate's advanced color management tools. New
ICC color profiles ensure accurate color when printing. Adobe PostScript
functions provide a reliable and compatible tool for importing EPS and PS
files. Built-in interface profiles, such as those found in CorelDRAW and
Photoshop, give users a familiar interface. It even changes the
application's quick keys for greater usability.

SignMate 6.5 runs on Mac, Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000/ME systems. The
entire suite of SignMate cut and print/cut products is priced from $1999 to
$4999 to meet varied experience levels and business requirements. Upgrades
are available from local Roland dealers.
