Register.com Announces One-Step Registrations
New register.com application Domain Manager 3.0 provides faster domain
registration, allowing customers to register new domain names in just one
step
New York, NY - January 26, 2000 - Register.com, Inc. (www.register.com),
one of the Internet's leading domain name registrars, today announced the
launch of Domain Manager 3.0, allowing customers to register domain names
in seconds. A domain management application proprietary to register.com,
Domain Manager 3.0 can now provide existing register.com customers with
faster domain registration service, as well as management tools to update
domain information in real time.
"Domain Manager 3.0 makes getting a name both faster and easier," said
register.com CEO and President Richard Forman. "In this market, sometimes
just a few minutes can make the difference between getting a name and
missing out. Now, all our existing customers have to do is log in, enter a
name, click on a button, and the name can be theirs in seconds."
Domain Manager 3.0 facilitates one-step registration by remembering the
information already provided by customers for future purchases. As a
result, existing register.com customers purchasing additional domain names
will have billing and contact information automatically inserted,
eliminating these steps from the registration process. After logging on by
entering their username, password and domain name, customers can enter a
domain name and register it in one step, if it's available.
Using the Domain Manager 3.0 application, customers can also alter any
information on their domain, including IP addresses, name changes and
contact information. Changes take effect immediately on register.com's
real-time Whois database.
"Domain Manager empowers our customers to control all aspects of their
domain name in an easy to use format," said register.com's Vice President
of Technology, Robert Gardos. "With other registrars, domain name owners
often have to send emails and may wait for days - or even weeks - for
important changes to take effect on their domain. At register.com, all our
customers need to do is log into our web-based application, enter in their
information, and the changes are visible immediately."
