Register.com and NameProtect.com Launch Trademark Guardian a New Corporate
Service to Combat Cybersquatting

State-of-the-art brand monitoring service allows individuals and companies
to manage their online identity easily and efficiently

New York, NY - June 19, 20000 - Register.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: RCOM) and Name
Protect.com today announced the launch of Trademark Guardiana, a trademark
monitoring service that allows companies to protect their brands worldwide.

Trademark Guardian provides brand-holders with monthly alerts of
potentially conflicting trademark and domain name activity from relevant
sources around the world. With a Trademark Guardian subscription, clients
receive early notification of potential threats to their brand through an
easy to read, html-based report prepared monthly by a trademark research
analyst.

Each report includes information on potentially conflicting activity,
including pending trademark applications from the US and Canada and new
domain name registrations in both the general top-level domain extensions
(.com, .net and .org) and also in various country code extensions
world-wide. The Trademark Guardian service is available to register.com
corporate clients for $595 per year.

"Trademark Guardian can be an invaluable resource for any company
interested in protecting its branded identity on line," said Richard Forman
CEO and President. "By monitoring new registrations at the registry level,
we're alerting our clients to potential trademark infringements at one of
the earliest points possible. Combined with other register.com Corporate
Service offerings, such as International Brand Protection (IBP), we're
working to make it easier than ever before for businesses to protect
themselves from cybersquatting."

"Protecting your brand in today's global marketplace can be an overwhelming
task considering the dispersed and unorganized nature of brand-related
information available online," said NameProtect.com President Mark McGuire.
"The Trademark Guardian service provides companies with the information
they need to enforce their trademark rights globally, learn of new
potential competitors and stay aware of other misuses of their brands. By
organizing this information and presenting it in an easy to read format,
the Trademark Guardian is an integral part of any company's comprehensive
brand protection plan."

While the main purpose of Trademark Guardian is to help clients identify
potential misuse of their brands online, the service also lets brand
managers know if other Web sites are linking to their company site and
outlines other "high-risk" domain names that are available for registration
in extensions world-wide.

"A main focus of register.com's Corporate Services Division is to
anticipate the services companies need to protect their brand, and
Trademark Guardian is a perfect example of how we're developing creative
ways to do this," said Mark Calandra, Director of register.com's Corporate
Services Division. "Once a company is made aware of a misuse of their
trademark, they can now take immediate corrective action to minimize the
potential damage."
